ABOUT THE ROLE
Move money correctly and account for every cent, from bank rail execution through settlement, billing, collections and disputes, on one ledger of record. You'll lead money movement directly and lead the billing, invoicing, collections and disputes team through an engineering manager.
What you'll own
Payment Gateway: ACH and RTP execution, rail selection, per-bank file formats, banking partners, onboarding new rails, and rail-level returns.
Settlement and the ledger of record, including its invariants and the rule that all writes go through Settlement's interfaces.
Billing and invoicing: pricing (including tiered, dynamic and VIP pricing), fees, invoices and commercial terms.
Collections and disputes: returns recovery, representment and dispute reversals.
Financial accuracy: reconciliation with Finance, and audit trails for every fee and adjustment.
Operation of all of these services by the teams that build them.
What you will bring
Built and operated ledger, settlement or money movement systems on ACH and RTP, including returns.
Fluent in double-entry accounting; works comfortably with Finance and auditors.
Manages banking partner relationships and rail onboarding, including partner compliance reviews.
Treats a reconciliation break as an incident, not a backlog item.
Player-coach: leads a team directly and stays hands-on in the code.
Runs change management for regulated, high-blast-radius systems, and AI-native delivery with human review where it has to hold.
