Description
Is this you?
We are seeking an experienced retirement plan professional to serve as a key technical resource within our organization. This role is responsible for performing quality reviews of retirement plan administration, compliance testing, government filings, and correction-related activities while helping elevate technical excellence across the firm.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex retirement plan issues, interpreting regulatory guidance, mentoring professionals, and ensuring exceptional quality standards are maintained throughout the client experience.
You will work closely with plan administrators, consultants, leadership, and operational teams to identify risks, provide technical guidance, and support consistent application of ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements.
What you’ll do
As a Senior Compliance Consultant, you will provide MAP’s final level of assurance before work reaches clients. You will review annual valuations, compliance packages, government filings, and correction calculations for accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with MAP’s quality standards. You will also serve as a trusted technical resource, helping teams resolve complex issues, identify recurring risks, and improve processes across the organization.
Technical Review & Quality Assurance
· Review annual administration for qualified retirement plans, including defined contribution plans.
· Review compliance testing, allocations, distributions, and annual valuation deliverables.
· Review Forms 5500 and related filings for technical accuracy and completeness.
· Identify operational, document, and compliance concerns before client delivery.
· Ensure consistency with internal standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
· Assist in developing and maintaining quality review processes and controls.
Technical Consulting
· Research and interpret IRS, DOL, and ERISA guidance.
· Analyze complex qualifications and operational issues.
· Provide recommendations regarding correction methodologies and plan compliance matters.
· Assist with plan terminations, mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, and other special projects.
· Support internal teams with technical consultation and issue resolution.
· Serve as an escalation resource for complex client situations.
Leadership & Mentorship
· Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members.
· Help develop technical knowledge across the organization.
· Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
· Participate in training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
· 6+ years of retirement plan administration, compliance consulting, or related TPA experience.
· Strong knowledge of ERISA, qualified retirement plans, and IRS compliance requirements.
· Significant experience reviewing compliance testing and annual administration.
· Experience interpreting plan documents and resolving operational issues.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
· QKA, QPA, CPC, ERPA, APA, CEBS, or similar professional designation.
· Experience with EPCRS corrections.
· Experience supporting DOL or IRS examinations.
· Experience with plan document consulting and qualification matters.
· Previous quality review, audit, or leadership experience.
· Experience with PensionPro and FTW is preferred
· Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and related business tools
Success in This Role
The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Naturally identifies issues others miss.
- Enjoys researching complex regulatory questions.
- Can explain technical concepts clearly and confidently.
- Provides feedback that helps others improve.
- Values accuracy, consistency, and client service equally.
- Sees themselves as a trusted advisor rather than simply a processor.
