Senior HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer

What you will do:

Provides drafting and design support for engineering departments by assuming full drafting and/or some design responsibility for assigned projects. May have responsibility for CAD deliverables to the customer, layout/packaging coordination, release coordination (using EPIC), and CAD studies.

How you will do it:

• •Develop and review detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and equipment specifications.
• •Perform HVAC load calculations, hydraulic calculations, pump head calculations, pipe sizing, and chilled water/condensate water system design.
• •Prepare technical proposals, bill of materials (BOM), equipment selections, and tender documentation.
• •Ensure all HVAC designs comply with ASHRAE standards, local building codes, and corporate engineering guidelines.
• •Coordinate with internal teams (sales, project management, solutions engineering) to support pre‑sales and project execution.
• •Review and validate engineering designs from consultants, contractors, and partners.
• •Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
• •Conduct site assessments, attend technical meetings, and support design reviews.
• •Support troubleshooting and commissioning activities related to HVAC and hydronic systems.
• •Meeting with clients and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements.
• •Review and understand mechanical designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs.

What we look for:

• •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• •Minimum 5 years experience in HVAC system design, including chilled water systems or condenser system design.
• •Strong understanding of HVAC system fundamentals, equipment selection, and controls integration.
• •Hands‑on proficiency in HVAC design software (Revit, AutoCAD).
• •Familiarity with performing hydraulic calculations and using tools/spreadsheets for pump head computation.
• •Knowledge of relevant standards (ASHRAE, ISO, local mechanical codes).
• •Experience delivering medium to large‑scale commercial or industrial projects.
• •Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
• •Professional certification (SCEM, LEED AP) is an advantage.
