the posting

At Fullers360, our purpose is simple - connecting people, places and communities across the Hauraki Gulf. We’re looking for an Operations Logistics Specialist to help keep our ferry services running safely, reliably and on time while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative role where no two shifts are the same. You’ll be at the heart of daily vessel operations, coordinating logistics, responding to disruptions and ensuring clear communication across teams and stakeholders.

About the role:

Reporting to the Manager - Marine Logistics, you’ll manage vessel operations on a shift basis to support safe, efficient and cost-effective service delivery. You’ll play a critical role in adjusting schedules, coordinating resources and maintaining strong communication with crews and key partners.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of two confirmed rosters, including the live week and the following confirmed roster, as well as the Vessel Movement Schedule (VMS). You’ll coordinate the logistics roster, provide coverage where required, and oversee the logistics email inbox. You’ll also support the onboarding and training of new Logistics team members and step in to support the Logistics Manager when needed.

Key responsibilities:

Coordinate and optimise daily vessel movements to achieve on-time performance targets

Adjust schedules to manage unplanned absenteeism, equipment issues or operational disruptions

Ensure vessels are prepared for service (berthing, fuelling, sullage and crew readiness)

Maintain clear communication with Skippers, Response & Recovery Maintenance team, Customer Operations and external stakeholders including Auckland Transport and port authorities

Collect, analyse and report on operational data to identify improvements

Support technology initiatives and continuous improvement projects within the operations team

Champion health, safety and quality standards across all activities

About you:

You’re calm under pressure, highly organised and thrive in dynamic operational environments. You enjoy problem solving, collaborating with others and making real-time decisions that keep services running smoothly.

You’ll bring:

At least 3 years’ experience in dispatch, coordination or logistics roles

Strong communication skills and confidence working with multiple stakeholders

Solid computer skills and the ability to analyse operational information

Critical thinking and sound decision-making capability

Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends

Complex problem-solving ability

Bonus points for:

Marine or transport operations knowledge

Familiarity with port procedures or the Hauraki Gulf region

About the hours of work:

This is a rostered position covering mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays – because our operations never stop. You’ll work on a rotating roster with two days off in a row, and shifts that let you make the most of the rest of your week.

Shift times are below:

This is a full-time permanent role that guarantees a 40-hour week

Mondays to Saturdays:

4.30am - 3pm OR 2pm - midnight

Sundays and public holidays:

6am - 4pm OR 2pm - midnight

About our benefits and perks (T&C's apply):

Free ferry travel for work and leisure for permanent employees

For leisure (off duty/non-work related) all café purchases have a 50% discount

Free annual flu shots and EAP (employee assistance program)

Access to discounted healthcare (Southern Cross)

*Candidates must have the right to work in NZ to be considered for this role.

Please note: Any information you provide will be used to evaluate your suitability to this position. We will hold onto your details for any future opportunities unless asked otherwise.
