About this role
At Grant Thornton, we’re building something different.
As a Senior Manager in our CFO Advisory team , you'll work at the centre of some of our client’s most important accounting and reporting challenges. One week you may be advising on the accounting implications of a major acquisition, capital raising or infrastructure project, and the next helping a finance team navigate the practical application of new accounting policies or remediate reporting issues from a recent transaction.
What makes this role unique is the breadth of exposure. Our clients operate across a wide range of industries and face diverse accounting, reporting and transaction related challenges. We serve clients that are ASX listed, private sector, public sector and Not for Profit.
As a senior member of the team, you'll lead engagements , mentor and develop junior team members, contribute to business develop initiatives and play an important role in shaping the future growth of the practice.

Key responsibilities
- Lead complex accounting advisory engagements from planning through to delivery.
- Analyse technical accounting issues and develop practical solutions that balance reporting, compliance and commercial objectives.
- Prepare and review high-quality client reports, technical papers and presentations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with CFOs, finance leaders and other key stakeholders.
- Lead engagement teams, providing coaching, mentoring and development support to junior team members.
- Manage engagement budgets, work-in-progress and commercial outcomes
- Identify opportunities to grow client relationships, support proposal development and contribute to thought leadership
Skills & experience
We’re looking for more than just technical accounting expertise.
We're seeking a commercially minded professional who enjoys tackling complex problems, building trusted relationships and helping clients navigate challenging situations.
You’ll thrive in this role if you are naturally curious, enjoy variety in your work and are energised by working closely with and leading people.
You will bring
- CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Approximately 8-10 years' relevant experience in accounting advisory, complex audit or a related professional services environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, AASB and financial reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex client engagements.
- Excellent report writing, analytical and communication skills.
- Experience leading and developing teams in a professional services environment.
- Strong stakeholder management, an interest in business development and and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
