Job Description:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
CUSTOMER
- Oversee a team of professionals providing program and control related services and advice
- Oversee the execution of annual specialized business processes and ongoing evaluation of programs, methods and processes to ensure that design aligns with the purpose, values and strategies of the business / function / organization
- Act as a subject matter expert in the development and delivery of programs
- Liaise with other SMEs, internally and externally, to understand and interpret applicable legislation/regulations relating to program administration
- Coordinate department compliance with overall division guidelines as well as regulatory agencies
- Identify key metrics / criteria for success and ensure reporting mechanisms are established and implemented
- Provide operational leadership for the management of enterprise-wide programming, developing and implementing best-in- class solutions that are scalable in support of enterprise/ business goals
- Responsible for ensuring effective communication to employees and/or leaders regarding policies, programs, processes and standards as well as improving work processes and finding efficiencies through new initiatives and
- Support the team by enhancing knowledge and participate in knowledge transfer within team/business
- Contribute to the success of the team by willingly assisting others in the completion of work activities; provide training, coaching and/or guidance, as appropriate
SHAREHOLDER
- Work closely with key business leaders to develop business plan, ensuring the optimal use of resources and leverage TD’s operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale
- Plan and execute on strategic activities, review and communicate results, and adjust tactics accordingly
- Execute on the annual business plan to deliver results aligned with business strategies
- Manage overall budget, revenue and expenditures, meet business objectives while increasing efficiency and effectiveness
- Proactively identify key business opportunities, research and recommend enhancements / modifications, develop strategies to achieve recommendations and work closely with team to execute and implement
- Monitor and communicate the effectiveness of delivery strategies, programs, and practices related to own area
- Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
- Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
- Ensure employees are knowledgeable; and assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct
EMPLOYEE / TEAM
- Contributes to the development of business segment and/or enterprise functional strategic priorities within their operational area or field of specialty
- Develops annual and/or long-term plans for own area and influences plans well beyond area managed
- Responsible for management of the overall team providing both leadership and guidance
- Set targets and objectives for the team, and deliver results
- Grow team expertise to align with business/enterprise demand and direction; assess team skills and capabilities and continually look for ways to provide and enhance the value delivered
- Lead a high performing team; provide on-going feedback and performance reviews, coach and develop employees and ensure performance management activities are undertaken and provide regular input into employee assessments and development plans
- Lead the process of setting performance objectives for the team; track, monitor and effectively address and/or reward performance in a timely manner
- Manage employees in compliance with all human resources policies, procedures and guidelines of conduct
- Share knowledge, information, skills, and subject matter expertise among the team and ensure the timely communication of issues and encourage good working relationships with other functions and teams
- Support an environment where team freely escalates business challenges; facilitate change through positive reinforcement of milestones and successes
- Recruit for all hires to ensure a highly diverse, qualified workforce to achieve business objectives
- Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally
BREADTH & DEPTH
- Provide people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
- Oversee and lead a highly complex, and diverse function for an area of significant risk, complexity or scope
- Strategic partner to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials, with deep industry, external / internal, enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and; identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management / enterprise areas
- Facilitate key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audience (output may include strategic roadmap and/or deliverables/ frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.)
- Set operational team direction and collaborate with others to execute on common goals
- Focus on longer-range planning for functional area
- Generally reports to an Executive
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree and/or
- 10+ years relevant experience
1. Prioritize and Manage the Backlog
- Maintain a prioritized backlog of AI use cases, features, models, and enhancements.
- Balance business value, technical feasibility, risk, cost, and time-to-market.
- Drive epic, feature, and story refinement to keep delivery teams focused on the highest-value outcomes.
2. Lead Cross-Functional Delivery and Execution
- Align business, data, technology, risk, and AI teams around shared objectives.
- Remove delivery blockers and drive progress toward sprint and PI commitments.
- Ensure AI solutions move efficiently from concept to production.
3. Be Accountable for Responsible AI, Risk, and Governance
- Ensure AI use cases meet governance, regulatory, privacy, security, and model risk requirements.
- Champion responsible AI practices, transparency, monitoring, and controls.
- Maintain accountability for AI lifecycle management and ongoing oversight.
4. Drive Adoption, Value Realization, and Continuous Improvement
- Measure business impact and adoption of AI capabilities.
- Gather stakeholder and customer feedback to continuously improve outcomes.
- Optimize models, processes, and experiences to maximize realized value.
