About This Opportunity

The Senior Manager, Strategic Engagement and Change will play a key role in leading, managing and embedding change initiatives arising from the ACE CRM Program, with a particular focus on testing and training. Working collaboratively across the University, you will provide strategic advice, bring together communication, training, HR and organisational development expertise, and develop practical tools and processes that support consistent and sustainable change. This is an opportunity to combine strategic influence with hands-on delivery, leading a team and working with senior stakeholders to help the UQ community successfully navigate meaningful change.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide high-level, timely and considered advice to the Strategic Program Director and key management stakeholders, including on sensitive matters, to support informed decision-making for the ACE CRM Program.
  • Lead change management for testing and training activities, including assessing change impacts, anticipating and addressing resistance, defining success measures, monitoring progress and integrating change activities into the broader project plan.
  • Partner with communication, training, HR and organisational development specialists and senior stakeholders to develop multi-channel communication, training and engagement activities that support successful implementation and adoption.
  • Work with a high-performing team to establish practical change tools, standards, guidelines and business processes that support consistent approaches across the ACE CRM Program and broader UQ community.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position through to the end of September 2027 at HEW Level 9.

About You

  • A postgraduate degree in communications, business management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education or training.
  • Substantial relevant experience and a demonstrated track record of developing and delivering multifaceted communication and change strategies within large and complex organisations, with measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capability, including the ability to identify strategic and operational issues, think laterally and apply analytical, qualitative and research skills to develop practical and creative solutions.
  • Extensive experience consulting, partnering with and coaching senior leaders and stakeholders to achieve outcomes in a large and complex environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams and fostering a collaborative, high-performing and service-oriented culture.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and organisational capability, with experience managing competing demands, multiple change programs and complex work to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated understanding of large-scale project delivery, including project management principles and techniques, with testing and training management capability highly regarded.
