Description

SENIOR MARKETING MANAGER

Washington, DC · Hybrid

Impact Genome

COMPANY BACKGROUND

Impact Genome (IG) is a fast-growing SaaS company on a mission to change how the world measures social change. We verify the real-world impact of government programs, NGOs, and nonprofits, helping them prove what works and why.

At the center of our work is the Impact Genome Registry, the first-ever database with outcomes and cost benchmarks from over 2.2 million social programs. Federal, state, and local agencies, as well as Fortune 500 companies, use it to track results, uncover “what works,” and invest where their dollars will have the greatest impact.

For nonprofits, we make evaluation fair, consistent, and less burdensome, so they can spend more time creating change and less time on reporting. Our mission: help the world shift from “giving money away” to investing in proven outcomes that create the maximum possible social good.

ROLE OVERVIEW

About 500 people matter most to our growth: senior decision-makers at federal agencies and at Fortune 250 companies. Most of them don’t know us yet. Your job is to change that.

Impact Genome is hiring its first marketing professional: a hands-on builder who will own marketing end to end across both of our brands, Mission Measurement (public sector) and Impact Genome (corporate). You’ll report to the COO, with a direct line to leadership and real freedom to build the marketing vision from a blank page, at a company that already has a proven product, federal and Fortune 500 customers, and a mission that matters.

Are you the marketer who would rather ship the campaign than write the deck about it? Who can write for a senior federal official in the morning and design the one-pager by afternoon? Who gets a charge out of watching your work move the pipeline? Keep reading.

This is a doer role with a focus on lead generation. You won’t inherit someone else’s playbook; you’ll write it and run it yourself, from writing and design to events and the website. Federal is our larger opportunity, so we’re looking for a strong public sector orientation, paired with the ability to run bread-and-butter marketing to corporate audiences.

This role is based in Washington, DC, and candidates must live in or near DC. The role is remote to start and will move to in-person in 2027.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your initial priorities, which will evolve as we grow:

  • Top 500 Campaigns. Plan and run targeted campaigns, including LinkedIn marketing, hosted webinars, and thought leadership, so our top 500 prospects know who we are. Our brand is elevated, not salesy: speak to senior leaders about how the field is changing and lead them to us and our approach.
  • Content. Write original articles, posts, and campaign copy, and edit and package pieces written by our CEO and internal subject-matter experts.
  • AI Search Visibility (AEO). Make sure our brands show up in AI-generated answers when prospects search for the problems we solve. Build, track, and improve our AI search visibility over time.
  • The Website. Own and optimize our website over time, including content, search and AI visibility, and performance tracking.
  • Conferences. Build a conference strategy that puts us in front of the public sector and corporate prospects that matter. Secure speaking slots and run the logistics so our subject-matter experts can focus on building relationships.
  • Convenings. Design and host DC-based convenings that bring the right federal decision-makers into the room.

REQUIREMENTS

What you bring:

  • Minimum 5+ years in B2B marketing, including experience marketing to US federal agencies
  • A Builder Who Ships. You have personally written, designed, and launched campaigns, not just managed others who did.
  • Fluent in Federal. You know the federal landscape in Washington, DC: the key agencies, the conferences, and how federal buyers find and evaluate partners.
  • A Writer With Substance. You create substantive content for senior leaders.
  • Your Own Design Shop. You design marketing materials yourself, including graphics, one-pagers, and slide decks.
  • An Event Planner. You bring hands-on experience with conference planning.
  • Curious About AI Search. You know SEO and are interested in how buyers use AI to search. AEO experience is a plus.
  • An Owner. You take initiative, fully own your work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excited to live our core values : we are a team of individuals who are Passionate about Social Impact, are Rigorous, Relatable, Agile, have a Commercial Mindset, and who Challenge Convention

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • $125,000 to $140,000 salary range, based on experience
  • Healthcare including dental and vision
  • Unlimited PTO & vacation
  • 401(k) plan
  • Incredible teammates
