We’re looking for a talented and highly experienced Senior Match-3 Designer (internally Game Designer) to join our lovely and ambitious game team and help craft fun, rewarding and memorable puzzle experiences for our cozy mobile game.

You’ll own the overall match-3 gameplay experience, helping to define how the puzzle game feels to play while delivering best-in-class levels that strike the right balance of challenge, progression and delight. From core gameplay tuning and mechanic development through to polished, data-informed level iterations, you’ll take ownership of the player experience and continually raise the quality bar.

You’ll work closely with game designers, artists, developers and analysts to ensure the match-3 is satisfying, intuitive and rewarding, evolving its mechanics, pacing and feel so that the game’s creative vision and long-term engagement goals come through. You’ll use player feedback, analytics and playtesting to refine gameplay, experiment with new ideas and shape the ongoing evolution of the game’s core puzzle experience.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll also help shape our level production strategy, driving quality with both internal development and external partners while contributing to the long-term direction of the game.

What You'll Be Doing

Design, build and balance exceptional match-3 levels that deliver engaging gameplay across a wide range of player skill levels.

Collaborate with developers to tune game feel and match 3 gameplay to be best-in-class

Own the design of blockers, boosters and rewards and shape satisfying level progression

Use analytics, player feedback and playtesting to continuously refine levels and improve player experience.

Work alongside Engineering to improve level design tools, workflows and implementation processes.

Partner with Art to ensure levels are visually readable, aesthetically cohesive and support the game’s creative vision.

Plan and own Match 3 content production, ensuring a consistent pipeline of high-quality content that supports development milestones and LiveOps.

Lead external level design contractors and outsourcing partners by providing clear briefs, regular feedback and quality reviews, ensuring all delivered content meets Treefrog’s standards.

Mentor other designers through feedback, knowledge sharing and collaborative problem solving.

What You Have

Experience shipping successful free-to-play match-3 or puzzle games.

Experience designing LiveOps events, seasonal content or limited-time game modes.

Strong understanding of player progression, retention, engagement and monetisation in puzzle.

Experience improving level editors, pipelines or content creation workflows.

Experience leading small feature teams or mentoring designers.

Have a deep understanding of the competition and genre trends.

Passion for cosy games and creating emotionally engaging player experiences.

A self-starter approach to use AI: you've found ways to use it in your day-to-day work, you experiment, figure things out and bring the same energy to every new challenge.

What We're Looking for

A strong sense of ownership, with the ability to drive work forward autonomously.

A consistent track record of delivering high-quality work that meets design requirements and project goals.

A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities and solve problems.

Sound judgement in balancing creative excellence with production efficiency.

The ability to lead external partners with clarity, empathy and high standards.

A collaborative approach to sharing knowledge, mentoring designers and raising the team’s quality bar.

Clear communication skills and the confidence to constructively challenge decisions.

A player-first mindset, balanced with an understanding of creative, technical and commercial goals.

A commitment to fostering a collaborative, inclusive and positive team culture.

Where You'll Be

This role is based in our London office. The team values in-person collaboration and typically works from the office three days a week: Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

About Supercell

Supercell is a games company from Helsinki, Finland, with offices also in San Francisco, Seoul, Shanghai, and London. You might know us as the makers of Hay Day, Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, Clash Royale, and Brawl Stars . Our mission is to create great games that as many people as possible play for years and that are remembered forever.

So, how do we make great games? By putting together the best teams and giving them the freedom and independence to succeed. And by taking risks, failing, sharing learnings , and killing lots of projects.

Hey, You Might Love It Here!

Independent cells and trust are at the core of our culture . But it takes more than that to make great games. We take good care of our people, providing them with the compensation, work environment, and resources they need to succeed while having fun along the way.

You Are Not Your Job Title ™

Here, you won’t need to focus on chasing titles or climbing ladders. Internally, our job titles don’t include prefixes like Senior, Junior, Principal, or Director. Recognition isn’t tied to your title, as it doesn't define the impact you can have around here.

Benefits and Compensation

Luring you in with glitter, glamour, and gems isn't what we're about. We want you to enjoy your time here fully, so we structure our compensation and benefits with that in mind. It starts with perceiving you as a human being, not a resource.

Relocation? Yes!

No matter where you’re moving from, our dedicated mobility team and partners will support you throughout your move. We’ll ensure the process is as smooth as possible for you and anyone joining you – whether they’re family members of the human or animal kind!

Not Sure if You Should Apply?

Many candidates with great skills and experience second-guess themselves. The bar is high, but if this role excites you, apply! We’re here to help you succeed. Also, we're happy to learn about any specific accommodations you may need to fully engage in our recruitment process.

  • Wishing you all the best,
