We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 7–10 years of hands-on experience to lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and hardware products. Responsibilities

Design & Development

Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.

Own the full product lifecycle, including 3D modeling, detailed drawings, P&IDs, PFDs, BOM generation, and equipment specifications.

Design and integrate complex process systems incorporating instrumentation such as thermocouples, pressure sensors, and flow meters.

Perform engineering analyses including stress, thermal, fluid, and tolerance stack-up analysis.

Support the development of mechanical systems for demanding high-temperature operating environments.

Documentation & Engineering Standards

Create and maintain technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation in accordance with applicable industry standards and safety requirements.

Apply GD&T principles and ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.

Participate in and lead design reviews, providing technical guidance to the broader engineering team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, product, and other engineering teams throughout the full development cycle.

Support prototyping, testing, design validation, and production-readiness activities.

Interface with vendors and suppliers on component and equipment selection, technical evaluations, specifications, and procurement.

Continuous Improvement

Identify and resolve mechanical design issues through structured root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.

Drive improvements in product performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.

Incorporate testing, analysis, and cross-functional feedback into iterative design improvements.

Qualifications

Required

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

7–10 years of relevant industry experience, with demonstrated ownership of products or mechanical systems from concept through production.

Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.

Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred

Experience with energy systems, chemical processing, long-duration energy storage, or advanced hardware startups.

Experience designing complex process systems involving instrumentation and vendor-supplied equipment.

Experience with high-temperature mechanical systems and materials.

Location

On-site in Mountain View, California. This role is expected to work primarily from Noon Energy's Mountain View location, or another future Bay Area location.

Compensation

Base salary: $180,000–$205,000 annually, with a target range of approximately $190,000–$195,000, plus a meaningful early-stage equity grant.

Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, skills, and other relevant factors.
