Coordinate with Construction and cross-functional partners to ensure the appropriate team, functional owners, and responsibilities are established before execution begins.
Establish the standard project kickoff framework and ensure new projects launch with clear cross-functional ownership, responsibilities, and Controls expectations.
Establish and maintain standard project reporting templates, required fields, source links, cadence, and minimum reporting expectations across the Long Haul portfolio.
Project Health, Schedule Adherence & Operating Cadence
Ensure project schedules, milestones, deliverables, production forecasts, and project trackers are established and maintained by the responsible Construction teams in accordance with program standards.
Monitor adherence to contract and program schedule requirements; identify deviations, confirm appropriate recovery plans or escalations are in place, and maintain visibility to unresolved exceptions.
Own the recurring Controls operating cadence, including weekly project updates, risk refreshes, vendor scorecards, controls reviews, and readiness of the consolidated portfolio view used for leadership reporting and decision-making.
Validate the completeness, consistency, and reliability of project-level schedule, risk, quality, compliance, and milestone information used to roll up portfolio health.
Partner with Contracts to define schedule, milestone, reporting, quality, and project-control requirements for inclusion in RFPs and contracts.
Quality, Compliance & Corrective-Action Governance
Own the quality and compliance governance process by ensuring required reviews, inspections, documentation, and acceptance activities occur at the appropriate points in the project lifecycle.
Partner with the technical Quality/Standards resource, Engineering, and Construction to ensure technical findings are documented, assigned, tracked, and resolved.
Maintain corrective-action tracking across the portfolio from issue identification through ownership, due date, resolution, and escalation of overdue or recurring items.
Conduct controls and documentation audits to verify adherence to project tracking protocols, required controls, contractual obligations, closeout requirements, and applicable compliance processes.
Develop and deliver Controls training covering project setup, reporting expectations, risk management, corrective-action tracking, and closeout requirements.
Vendor Performance & Portfolio Risk
Develop and maintain an independent Controls view of vendor performance using schedule, quality/compliance, documentation, corrective-action, and other agreed performance indicators.
Coordinate with the Director, Contracts, and Construction Directors to develop and maintain formal vendor scorecards; ensure the framework is implemented consistently and incorporated into recurring Controls reporting.
Surface vendor-performance trends and recurring issues, directly challenge gaps when controls or commitments are not being met, and keep the Director informed of items that may require leadership intervention.
Own the portfolio risk-management process and risk register, ensuring material risks have clear owners, mitigation plans, due dates, status, and escalation paths.
Closeout, Continuous Improvement & Functional Leadership
Own closeout readiness by ensuring required controls, documentation, quality/compliance actions, acceptance activities, and handoffs are complete or clearly dispositioned before project closure.
Capture project closeout findings, lessons learned, and recurring portfolio themes and use them to improve controls standards, templates, reporting, vendor scorecards, training, and operating practices.
Identify systemic issues, design practical process improvements, lead implementation of approved changes, and measure adoption and effectiveness.
Develop and maintain standardized playbooks, checklists, templates, reporting frameworks, and training materials that improve repeatability, visibility, and execution discipline.
