Senior Platform Engineer - DevOps

Job Description Summary

Design, support, and enhance enterprise development platforms that enable efficient software delivery, automation, security, and scalability. This role partners across engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to improve platform reliability, streamline developer workflows, and advance modern DevOps practices.

Job Description

This role is a hybrid workstyle: with the associate expected to work from a Raymond James office location at least three days per week, including either Monday or Friday.

Technical Skills & Experience:

• •5+ years of Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, or related experience.
• •Hands-on experience administering and supporting enterprise development platforms such as GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, JFrog (Artifactory/Xray), Azure DevOps, Jira, SonarQube, or similar tools.
• •Strong knowledge of Git, source control management, artifact repositories, release automation, CI/CD pipelines, and software delivery best practices.
• •Experience leading platform upgrades, integrations, migrations, and tool consolidations, including the movement of repositories, pipelines, configurations, and users between platforms.
• •Experience with Linux, Windows, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• •Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash, Groovy, or similar languages.
• •Experience implementing secure development and deployment practices, platform governance, monitoring, observability, and root cause analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• •Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise development platforms and services, ensuring reliability, performance, security, and scalability across the software delivery ecosystem.
• •Design, implement, and support CI/CD capabilities that improve software delivery efficiency and developer experience.
• •Lead platform upgrade, integration, migration, and modernization initiatives while minimizing disruption to development teams and business operations.
• •Drive automation initiatives that improve reliability, scalability, operational efficiency, and developer productivity.
• •Partner with development, infrastructure, and security teams to establish best practices for source control, CI/CD, artifact management, workflow automation, and platform governance.
• •Implement secure software delivery practices, including code scanning, dependency management, secrets management, and compliance controls.
• •Troubleshoot complex issues across development platforms, infrastructure, automation workflows, and developer tooling.
• •Contribute to platform standards, architecture decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives that advance enterprise DevOps capabilities.
