  • The Position
  • Help shape the future of siRNA therapeutics by translating cutting-edge DMPK science into impactful drug discovery strategies. In your new role, you will provide scientific leadership, work within multidisciplinary project teams, and influence key decisions from lead optimization to clinical translation. Join us to advance innovative research and accelerate the translation of siRNA therapies from discovery to patients.
  • This position can be filled either as Principal Scientist or Senior Principal Scientist.

  • Tasks & responsibilities
  • As a recognized scientific expert in DMPK for siRNA therapeutics, you will provide scientific guidance and innovative solutions to pharmacokinetic and tissue disposition challenges across discovery research programs.
  • Furthermore, you will contribute to multiple multidisciplinary project teams by lead optimization, candidate selection, and translational strategies, thereby driving the success of siRNA-based drug discovery programs.
  • You will define and advance screening strategies with a focus on in vitro ADME, in vivo PK, and PK/PD to deepen the understanding of siRNA disposition, tissue targeting, efficacy, and safety, as well as coordinate DDS activities.
  • In research teams and stakeholder meetings, you will interpret, communicate, and influence DMPK strategies and key project decisions through scientific expertise.
  • The role will include the supervision of in vivo pharmacokinetic studies and the planning and coordination of relevant DMPK profiling activities.
  • Moreover, you will contribute to the development and application of innovative experimental and data analysis approaches to advance siRNA and oligonucleotide research.
  • Additional tasks for the Senior Principal Scientist role:
  • You will shape our siRNA strategy within the company while mentoring scientists and defining scientific best practices.
  • In addition, you will develop and implement new strategies in international projects and initiatives to continuously improve workflows and interfaces and represent the company's delivery science externally in scientific networks, conferences and partnering discussions.
  • Requirements
  • PhD (or equivalent) in pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, pharmacology, biology, pharmaceutical sciences, or related discipline
  • In-depth knowledge of DMPK, phys.-chem. profiling and formulation principles and proven track record in siRNA therapeutics
  • Several years of pharmaceutical industry experience in drug discovery of siRNA, with demonstrated success in translating preclinical findings into clinical development
  • Proven experience in the design, interpretation and ideally also supervision of in vivo PK studies of siRNA therapeutics
  • Excellent overview of scientific literature in the siRNA field as well as an already established scientific network
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in international cross-functional teams and convey complex scientific concepts to diverse stakeholders
  • Additional requirements for the Senior Principal Scientist role:
  • Longterm professional experience within the pharmaceutical industry, including leadership of complex, cross-functional drug discovery projects and platform initiatives, and communication to senior leadership forum
  • Recognized scientific standing in the siRNA community, demonstrated by publications, patents, invited talks or successful external collaborations
  • Start date: asap
