JOB TITLE: Senior Product Designer - 12 Month FTC

SALARY: £61,344 - £68,160

LOCATIONS: Cardiff, Bristol or Manchester

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN : Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.

What you’ll be doing

  • Skilfully craft the end-to-end user experience, bringing together a cohesive journey step by step, creatively using components from a central design system to figure out the right balance of content and UI (User Interface) elements on screen
  • Bring designs to life with a choice of prototyping software, such as Figma / Axure / Adobe XD
  • Balance business requirements with user needs – you'll be gathering user research and rationale to align stakeholders on individual user needs. You’ll know when to diplomatically push back, if necessary, to act on what’s right for the customer
  • Be adaptable, work closely with engineering and product to understand technical constraints, identify opportunities and shape solutions.
  • Advocate customer inclusion – what it means to make an inclusive and accessible design to be used by customers of a wide range of ages, backgrounds and technical abilities,

What we’re looking for?

  • 5+ years of product design experience.
  • Strong experience in product design with a proven track record of creating intuitive, user experiences, evidenced with measurable customer and business outcomes.
  • Owns and drives end-to-end design initiatives, from discovery and concept development through to delivery and optimisation.
  • Excellent prototyping, wireframing and experience design skills, with the ability to clearly communicate design rationale, influence decision-making and align stakeholders around a shared vision.
  • Confident working within established design systems, actively identifying opportunities to improve, evolve and extend them for the benefit of both the product and the wider design community.
  • Able to connect design decisions to business objectives, articulating how great design drives customer outcomes, efficiency, engagement and long-term value.
  • Highly collaborative, with a proactive approach to working within multidisciplinary teams across Design, Product, Engineering and Research.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, capable of influencing stakeholders, shaping strategic direction and can build confidence in design-led approaches at all levels.
  • Values collaboration and feedback, openly sharing work, participating in design critiques and working closely with others to create the best outcomes for customers and the business.
  • Comfortable using AI as part of the design process to improve efficiency, collaboration and decision-making.
