About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use):

11 The Team:

The Senior Sales Engineer is part of the Market Intelligence organization and works closely with colleagues across sales, account management, product, research and development, operations and professional services. The team acts as the technical partner to prospective and existing customers, bringing together commercial insight, product expertise and an understanding of customers’ data, technology and workflow requirements.

You will join a collaborative, customer-focused team that shares knowledge, supports continuous improvement and builds strong relationships across functions and regions. As a senior member of the team, you will also provide guidance to colleagues and help connect the team’s day-to-day activity with broader business priorities.

The Impact:

You will own the technical side of the customer lifecycle, from the first discovery conversation through solution design, demonstrations, proof-of-concept engagements, technical validation, scoping and a structured handover to our professional services team. Your ability to understand complex requirements and translate them into clear, credible solutions will directly influence customer confidence, commercial outcomes and successful implementation.

You will serve as a trusted technical adviser on complex opportunities, helping customers understand how our SaaS products, data and workflows can address their business needs. You will also bring customer and market insight back into the organization, helping product and operational teams identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency and an improved customer experience.

What’s in it for You:

  • Take end-to-end technical ownership of strategic customer opportunities and work with a broad range of stakeholders, from technical specialists and go-to-market teams to senior business decision-makers.
  • Develop deeper expertise in Market Intelligence solutions, SaaS technology, private markets, financial services and customer workflows while contributing to complex and commercially important engagements.
  • Work across sales, account management, product, research and development, operations and professional services, giving you broad exposure to the full customer and product lifecycle.
  • Influence how solutions are positioned, demonstrated and implemented by converting customer feedback and technical insight into practical recommendations.
  • Contribute to team capability by sharing professional expertise, coaching colleagues and helping improve sales-engineering tools, processes and ways of working.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical customer lifecycle for assigned opportunities, beginning with discovery and progressing through solution design, tailored demonstrations, proof-of-concept delivery, technical validation, scoping and handover to professional services.
  • Partner with sales and account management colleagues to understand each customer’s business objectives, decision criteria, technical environment, data requirements and operational workflows, then recommend an appropriate solution and engagement strategy.
  • Plan and deliver compelling product demonstrations and proof-of-concept engagements with clearly defined objectives, success measures, responsibilities and timelines.
  • Communicate complex technical and product information clearly to technical, commercial and senior business audiences.
  • Advise customers and internal stakeholders on complex technical matters, including solution configuration, data workflows, integrations and implementation considerations.
  • Work effectively with incomplete or conflicting information, identify viable options and make sound decisions within agreed parameters.
  • Collaborate with product, research and development, operations and professional services to ensure accurate technical scoping and a well-documented customer handover.
  • Share customer insight, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality, and provide guidance or coaching to less-experienced colleagues.
  • Stay current on trends in private markets, portfolio monitoring software, financial services and the impact of artificial intelligence on finance, using this knowledge to strengthen customer conversations and solution recommendations.
  • Support responses to requests for information and requests for proposals, customer workshops and other sales activities as required.
  • Use tools such as Microsoft Excel and, where appropriate, large language model applications to support analysis, solution development and customer engagements.
  • Travel as required to support customers, colleagues and business activities.
  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week
