Job Description Summary

GE Vernova's Power Conversion & Storage business is looking for a commercially driven sales leader to take ownership of the Industry and Oil & Gas segment across Northern Europe. This is a senior leadership role with real scope – managing a team of sales and business development professionals, shaping the segment growth strategy, and driving meaningful revenue across the UK and Nordics.

Job Description

About the role

GE Vernova is a purpose−built global energy company, helping customers electrify and decarbonise the world. Our Power Conversion & Storage business works with customers across oil and gas, metals, mining, and heavy industry, delivering drives, controls, automation, solar, and battery energy storage solutions – as well as long−term service and upgrade programmes for existing installations.

This role sits at the heart of that growth ambition. You will directly lead a team of six sales professionals, set the direction for how we develop and win business across the segment and region, and personally engage at senior levels with key customers and partners. The territory spans the UK and Northern Europe, with a particular focus on expanding our presence in the Nordics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of sales managers and business development professionals, setting clear direction, individual plans, and performance expectations.
  • Drive segment revenue growth in line with the annual operating plan, with a target of approximately $50M across Industry and Oil & Gas.
  • Build and maintain senior−level customer relationships, identifying and converting strategic opportunities across new and existing accounts.
  • Define and execute the segment's go−to−market strategy, including Scandinavian market development.
  • Shape compelling value propositions by aligning customer requirements, market trends, and GE Vernova's full product and service portfolio.
  • Manage and develop the opportunity pipeline using Salesforce, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including operations, commercial, and second−line account management to ensure full coverage of the installed base.
  • Champion GE Vernova's values and standards across safety, quality, integrity, and customer focus.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading a commercial sales team in an industrial or energy−related environment.
  • A background selling technically complex equipment or solutions – either into oil & gas, metals, mining, or heavy industry, or selling comparable products (such as drives, controls, switchgear, or power electronics) into industrial markets.
  • Technical credibility sufficient to engage confidently with engineering and procurement stakeholders – whether gained through formal qualification or extensive industry experience.

Strong commercial acumen, including pipeline management, value-based selling, and competitive positioning.

  • Good understanding of the oil & gas market segment.
  • Demonstrable experience using a CRM platform (Salesforce experience is a strong advantage).
  • A valid driving license and passport, with the ability to travel across the UK and Northern Europe (up to approximately 20-30% of working time).

Nice-to-have qualifications:

  • Degree in electrical engineering, automation, controls, or related discipline.
  • Direct experience with power conversion products such as variable frequency drives or industrial automation systems.
  • Familiarity with Scandinavian markets, customers, or business culture.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification.
