What You'll Do

IronArch Technology is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Dynamics to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). You will work on a VA program that modernizes access to VA data and services through secure, reliable, scalable application programming interfaces (APIs), improving how Veterans, partners, and internal VA teams reach the information they depend on.

You will join a small technical team of three to four developers that owns a set of production APIs end to end: design, development, integration, documentation, and ongoing maintenance. This is a hands-on engineering role. You will write production-grade Java in the core services, review code with the technical lead, and work with the engineering lead and API architect on solution design. The APIs you build connect VA systems to each other and to external consumers, so security, backward compatibility, and clear documentation are part of the job, not an afterthought.

Responsibilities

CRM & API Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM customizations (C#/.NET plugins, workflows, and configurations).
  • Work with SQL Server to design and maintain backend data structures that support CRM functionality.
  • Stay current with Dynamics 365 Wave releases and apply relevant updates to maintain system performance.

Code Quality & Security

  • Support CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and enforce secure coding practices.
  • Collaborate with QA engineers to expand automated testing coverage for CRM integrations.

Integration & Interoperability

Build and optimize RESTful APIs that connect CRM with VA.gov and other systems.

Operations & Support

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance with VA requirements.

Documentation & Collaboration

  • Effectively engage with stakeholders to understand needs, communicate progress, and align CRM solutions with program objectives.
  • Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) to align development with program priorities.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on full-stack development
  • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and C#/.NET development
  • Experience with SQL Server for backend data management
  • Proficiency with ReactJS and TypeScript for frontend enhancements and system integrations
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and enterprise system integration
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud environments for hosting and deployment
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices (GitHub Actions, secure code scanning, containerization)
  • Direct VA project experience and prior involvement in federal IT projects with security and compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum) and experience delivering software in iterative sprints

AI Capabilities

  • Comfortable using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot as a working tool for code generation, refactoring, test writing, and documentation.
  • Able to set an example for the team on where AI tools help and where they do not.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Familiarity with application security principles and secure development practices.
  • Experience operating services under a continuous Authority to Operate (cATO) or similar Federal compliance model.
  • Experience working in a complex multi-vendor Federal program.
