Senior Telecom Validation Engineer - 5G Core (SMF)

Role Summary

Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for participating in the evolution and execution of procedures for ensuring the quality of new features and releases of software products. Debugs software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products. Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans, automated scripts and programs for testing. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems. Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and computation software.

Key Responsibilities

Validate 5G Core network functions with focus on SMF, AMF, UPF, NRF, and UDM.

Execute and troubleshoot PDU Session, mobility, policy, and subscriber management call flows.

Analyze NGAP, PFCP, HTTP2/SBI, NAS, and GTP-U traces for issue identification and RCA.

Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Python and Robot Framework.

Perform interoperability, resiliency, failover, and error injection testing.

Investigate customer-reported issues and drive root cause analysis using logs and packet captures.

Validate cloud-native deployments, upgrades, scaling, and Kubernetes-based CNF environments.

Design test strategies, regression plans, and quality metrics for new feature releases.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality

PFCP (N4 Interface)

NGAP (N2 Interface)

NAS messages

GTP-U

SCTP

Diameter (good to have for EPC background)
