Senior Treasury Accountant

About the Role

HTeaO , a thriving franchise in the tea industry, is growing fast, and so is our need for a passionate and organized a ccountant to help fuel that momentum! We a re looking for a Senior Treasury Accountant to own our company's cash operations end-to-end while also serving as a key technical accounting resource and the primary accounting point of contact for our franchisee network. This is a hybrid role that blends hands-on treasury execution, technical accounting expertise, and cross-functional partnership.

Key Responsibilities

Treasury & Cash Management

Execute all cash-related tasks across the organization, including:

Processing and approving outgoing payments (AP disbursements, wires, ACH)

Daily cash positioning and monitoring across all accounts

Cash flow forecasting (short- and long-term) and variance analysis

Managing banking relationships, including account setup, signatory changes, and day-to-day bank communications

Bank reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies

Monitoring and optimizing bank fees, account structures, and liquidity

Managing intercompany funding and transfers, if applicable

Debt covenant tracking and reporting, if applicable

Fraud prevention controls (positive pay, dual approval, payment verification)

Maintaining and improving treasury policies, procedures, and internal controls

Technical Accounting

Serve as a go-to resource for technical accounting questions across the accounting and finance team

Research and document accounting positions on complex or non-routine transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, new pronouncements)

Draft technical accounting memos to support GAAP compliance and audit readiness

Partner with external auditors on technical accounting matters and support the annual audit process

Monitor new accounting standards and assess/implement impact on the business

Franchisee Accounting Liaison

Act as the primary accounting point of contact for franchisees on all system and process-related questions

Field and resolve franchisee inquiries related to accounting systems, reporting requirements, royalty/fee calculations, and process workflows

Develop and maintain training materials, FAQs, and process documentation for franchisee accounting matters

Identify recurring franchisee pain points and partner with internal teams to improve systems and processes

Support onboarding of new franchisees from an accounting/systems perspective

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting , Finance, or related field; CPA preferred

5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and/or treasury, ideally with exposure to both

Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting research

Experience managing banking relationships and cash operations directly (not just reviewing reports)

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting/technical concepts to non-accounting audiences (e.g., franchisees)

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning deadlines independently

Experience in a multi-unit, franchise, or retail environment a plus

Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and treasury/banking portals

What Success Looks Like

Cash operations run smoothly with no payment delays, banking issues, or unresolved reconciliation items

Technical accounting positions are well-documented, defensible, and audit-ready

Franchisees have a trusted, responsive accounting contact and view accounting processes as clear rather than a source of friction
