Schumacher Automotive is currently looking for an Automotive Technician (Volkswagen) with at least 3+ years of experience working in an automotive dealership. Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties
- Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles
- Completes preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, wheel balancing, replacing filters, etc.
- Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components.
- Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
- Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Maintains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
- Good knowledge of automobiles
- Effective analytical and communication skills
- Good reading, computer, and mathematics skills
- Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
- Obtain and keep manufacture certifications up to date
- Perform multi-point inspections 100% of the time
- Ability to work some scheduled Saturday’s
