Senior WHS Manager

• The Sr. WHS (Workplace Health and Safety) Manager will be primarily responsible for managing all health and safety matters for our Quick Commerce sites and third-party operations. The individual will implement Amazon's safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations. Leveraging lean principles and kaizens, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce WHS risks in our processes, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for associates and contractors.
• The Sr. WHS Manager must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations team, influencing change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. The Sr. WHS Manager must be an effective communicator, delivering clear, concise, and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. This individual will be responsible for instructing and training Operations leaders on company safety policies and assisting regional teams in incorporating safety standards at their sites.

The Sr. WHS Manager will identify best practices and incorporate them into standards to continuously improve company safety policies. This role requires excellent safety program knowledge and relevant safety, environmental, and ergonomic expertise, demonstrated through direct engagement with Operations. Additionally, the Sr. WHS Manager will support WHS activities and programs related to new expansions and launches in the region, ensuring that new projects are executed safely without delays due to safety concerns. This individual will work closely with Building Design, Launch, DCS, Legal, and Engineering teams to provide WHS assessments at different phases.

The Sr. WHS Manager will lead a team of WHS professionals responsible for auditing Quick Commerce sites and third-party sites. This individual must create and execute leadership development plans for team members, communicate expectations, provide frequent and appropriate feedback, and ensure the team is executing to the core competencies of an Amazon WHS professional. The Sr. WHS Manager must also demonstrate the ability to assess WHS talent and select appropriate bench strength to meet current and future business needs.

• Key job responsibilities
• 1. Possess a thorough understanding of local and regional regulations and the ability to work with these alongside company policies.
• 2. Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon WHS policies.
• 3. Measure the region and sites' performance against published requirements in WHS policies. For all deficiencies, identify and implement a plan to fix them.
• 4. Deliver quality projects on time to Operations.
• 5. Analyse WHS metrics and review weekly and monthly incident trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where WHS risk is highest.
• 6. Analyse WHS review and audit results, and develop and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injuries at other facilities.
• 7. Audit workplace organization and associate behaviours to ensure that training, auditing, and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.
• 8. Manage and mentor the WHS team in assigned facilities.
• 9. Create scalable processes and mechanisms to ensure third-party operations comply with all local regulations.
• 10. Provide necessary training to the Operations team so that our third-party partners operate in a safe environment.
• 11. Lead injury reduction efforts by performing targeted kaizens in partnership with Operations teams based on risks identified in each task and at each job position.
• 12. Review the effectiveness of deployed WHS tools and revise them to ensure continual improvement.
• 13. Partner with corporate and other regional field WHS personnel to leverage global WHS best practices into Quick Commerce and third-party network standards.

Basic qualifications

• - 10+ years of people leadership, or 7+ years of management experience
• - Bachelor's degree in engineering or safety
• - Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in safety and/or environmental programs within manufacturing, production, service operations, or other relevant settings applicable to the role

Preferred qualifications

• - Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization
• - Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
• - Certified Safety Professional preferred
