Position Overview:

Finning is looking for two Service Operations Managers.

As a Service Operations Manager at Finning, you will lead a team responsible for delivering exceptional equipment maintenance and repair services while ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable operations. Supporting a large mining-focused service shop, you will provide leadership to frontline leaders and employees, balancing operational excellence with employee engagement, coaching, conflict resolution, and strategic workforce planning. This role is ideal for an experienced operations leader who can foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement while maximizing customer equipment availability and business performance.

Job Description:

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and develop a team of supervisors and frontline employees by providing coaching, mentorship, performance feedback, and support for employee growth and engagement.
  • Drive a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with safety standards, policies, and procedures, while proactively addressing risks and concerns.
  • Oversee daily service operations, including workload planning, resource allocation, scheduling, and work order management to meet customer commitments.
  • Partner with frontline leaders to create an environment of trust, accountability, collaboration, and psychological safety.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational performance, customer service, productivity, and equipment availability.
  • Manage service operations, assets, and branch resources to achieve financial, operational, and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Monitor and report on business performance, ensuring effective management of service work in progress, budgets, facilities, and operational priorities.

What You'll Bring:

  • Post-secondary education, trade certification, or equivalent combination of operational leadership experience and industry knowledge.
  • Leadership experience managing teams within a service, mechanical, maintenance, manufacturing, industrial, automotive dealership, mining, or related operational environment.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and influence leaders and employees while effectively navigating performance management, employee relations, and workplace conflict.
  • Strong understanding of service operations, including workload planning, resource allocation, work order management, and customer service delivery.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams in a fast-paced environment while driving employee engagement, accountability, safety, and operational performance.
  • Experience managing business performance, budgets, productivity, service work in progress, and financial results.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple levels of the organization.
