SEWING MACHINE OPERATOR

Description

SUMMARY

The Sewist is responsible for producing high-quality custom drapery, AV-Drop skins, and other fabric products. This role requires strong sewing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while meeting production deadlines and quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• •Operate industrial sewing equipment, including straight stitch and overlock.
• •Measure, cut, sew, and finish fabric products according to work orders and specifications.
• •Inspect work for accuracy, quality, and craftsmanship.
• •Follow instructions and drawings.
• •Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• •Assist with fabric handling, material organization, and inventory as needed.
• •Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards.
• •Support team members and assist with other fabrication tasks as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• •2+ years of sewing experience preferred.
• •Experience with industrial sewing machines.
• •Ability to accurately read a tape measure and follow specifications.
• •Strong attention to detail and quality.
• •Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• •Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• •Willingness to work overtime when required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• •Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• •Ability to stand, bend, and sit for extended periods.
• •Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to sewing equipment and textiles.
