Description

CHEM Group is a custom chemical processor with expertise in various distillation technologies, pastillation, blending, reaction chemistry purification and heat transfer fluids.

We are currently looking for a Shift Engineer . This position is a 12 hr rotating dupont schedule with and a starting pay of $65,000 - $75,000 per year!!! (DOE)

This position is responsible for operating systems as assigned at the plant. The Shift Engineer will directly support (as needed) all operational activities based upon the general directives of plant management. Shift engineers must maintain a track record of safely and efficiently operating all plant systems. The shift engineer will operate equipment, systems, transfer material and perform lab testing as needed. Shift engineers must be able to complete mass balances, inventory reports, transfers, and all other plant reporting. Success in this position will be measured primarily in terms of the incumbent’s ability to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant, operating systems and transfers as instructed, while providing effective documentation and communication that will lead to the highest levels of performance in a rapidly changing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate plant systems in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Loading and unloading of drums, totes, trailers and railcars.
  • Product packaging and labeling
  • Collecting and analyzing of feed, in-process and finished product samples
  • Ensuring plant production is optimal and goals are met or exceeded with respect to productivity, throughput, cycle times, yields, and finished product quality.
  • Creating a work environment that drives incident-free operations. Ensuring optimal performance in environmental compliance, health, and safety.
  • Coordinating with Transportation Manager to manage material transfer in and out of the Plant.
  • Routine and preventative maintenance of all critical equipment. Maintain reliability standards.
  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping practices in the Plant
  • Assist leadership in critical plant functions.
  • Abide by the principles in the EHS&S mission statement.
  • Abide by Chem Group’s quality policy.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree in Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Petroleum (entry level)
  • Understanding of material flows and production planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Computer literate (i.e. MS Office, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to capture, organize and present relevant data to plant leadership
  • Ability to drive daily execution.
  • Must be willing and able to climb stairs, use a ladder, and lift 60 pounds
  • Must comply with drug and alcohol testing policy as set forth in the CHEM Group, Inc. Employee Handbook
  • Responsibilities and training outlined in the RCRA Haz waste Job Duties Matrix (see attachment)
  • Pass the fit for duty requirements
