Shift Incharge

Key Responsibilities:

1) Shift Operations:

Supervise all fusion plant operations during the shift.

Ensure smooth functioning of electric arc furnaces, induction furnaces, or other fusion equipment.

Monitor raw material feeding, melting, and pouring processes.

Maintain production output as per schedule and quality standards.

2) Quality Control:

Coordinate with the quality team to ensure product meets required specifications.

Take immediate corrective actions in case of any deviations or non-conformities.

Maintain records of quality checks and production parameters.

3) Safety & Compliance:

Enforce safety standards and ensure proper use of PPE by all shift personnel.

Report and respond to incidents, near misses, or unsafe practices.

Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

4) Team Supervision:

Manage and assign duties to machine operators, helpers, and technicians.

Conduct shift briefings and ensure effective communication between shifts.

Address minor grievances or operational issues of the workforce.

5) Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain shift production logs, equipment checklists, and downtime reports.

Handover shift details properly to the incoming shift.

Prepare daily shift reports and escalate issues to higher management.

6) Maintenance Coordination:

Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Monitor equipment health and report abnormalities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education: Diploma / B.Tech in Metallurgy, Ceramic Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Experience: 3–7 years of experience in refractory manufacturing, preferably in a fusion plant.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with high-temperature furnace operations, refractory raw materials, and safety protocols.

Soft Skills: Leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making.
