Description

Deliver Industry-Leading Genetics Around the World

Select Sires, Inc. is seeking a Shipping Technician to join our production and distribution team in Plain City, Ohio. This position plays a critical role in packaging, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping activities that ensure high-quality genetic products are delivered accurately and efficiently to livestock producers throughout the United States and around the world. This position reports to the Manager of Distribution Facilities.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, hourly, non-exempt position
  • Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Work schedules and responsibilities may be adjusted to support departmental and business needs.

What You'll Do

  • Package bovine semen orders according to distribution requests.
  • Process shipping paperwork and documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Update inventory records using proprietary software systems.
  • Move products to designated storage locations.
  • Monitor and maintain liquid nitrogen levels in storage tanks and shipping containers.
  • Safely move and handle inventory tanks.
  • Assemble goblets and prepare canes with identification tags.
  • Detect and report defective materials, equipment concerns, or unusual operating conditions.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and equipment.
  • Follow established quality standards, operating procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Support departmental production goals and operational efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequently bend and stoop.
  • Lift, carry, and move products and materials.
  • Push and pull equipment weighing more than 100 pounds.
  • Work safely around cryogenic materials, including liquid nitrogen.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
