Silicone Extrusion Operator - Night Shift

Position Summary:

A Silicone Extrusion operator utilizes the machinery in the Silicone Department in order to fulfill daily production requirements.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• •Uses the daily schedule to determine production requirements.
• •Operators will be trained on all machine safety, set-up, shut-down, and operating procedures in the platinum and the peroxide extrusion rooms.
• •Operators will develop the ability to measure silicone tubing and hose. This includes the I.D., the O.D., and the wall thickness.
• •Operators will be trained to properly measure using rulers, tape measures, dial calipers, wall thickness and pin gages. A silicone operator must also use ultrasonic thickness gages for wall thickness measurements.
• •The operator must have the physical ability to mix 50-60 lbs. of silicone rubber on a two-roll cabinet mill.
• •An operator must be comfortable on ladders in order to string the line at start up.
• •Operator must use FIFO when using raw material for extrusion. They must record accurate lot information and follow company rules on documentation.
• •Daily teamwork and collaboration with other departments is expected.
• •Daily housekeeping and logging of Cleanroom activities is a required.
• •Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work 12-hour shifts

Requirements

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:

• •High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Passing grade on basic math and English comprehension test is required.
• •Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. One should be able to speak effectively to fellow employees. One should be able to take written notes and fill out written run sheet information in an organized, legible fashion.
