- Social Media Manager (Freelance) – Money Coach
- Location: The i Paper Headquarters – London, Kensington
Job Introduction
The i Paper is looking for a Social Media Manager to lead day-to-day social content creation for Money Coach, turning our journalism and content into engaging, platform-native posts.
You will be a data-savvy operator, using daily and weekly analytics to inform content decisions, alongside a strong creative instinct for design, captioning and storytelling. You'll work closely with the Head of Social Video, Senior Video Producer and Formats Producers to grow the account's reach and engagement.
This role reports to the Senior Social Video Producer.
Key areas of Responsibility
Own and manage a 7-day publishing schedule across TikTok and Instagram, spanning flagship formats, reactive video, carousels and static posts
Move fast to react to breaking news, trends and viral moments, identifying and acting on leading and emerging trends relevant to Money Coach
Turn stories into scroll-stopping, platform-native content with strong hooks and clear angles that resonate with the audience
Lead on thoughtful, timely community management - reading and responding to comments and messages, monitoring sentiment, and feeding insights back to stakeholders to inform future reactive content, all with the goal of nurturing and growing a highly engaged audience
Design carousel and graphic posts in Figma or similar design software, drawing on platform best practice and audience insight to create content intended to drive engagement
Write platform-native captions aligned to Money Coach's tone of voice
Drive account growth - focusing on followers, reach and engagement, and continually optimising content by understanding what works on each format and platform
Use data to track and report on performance, flagging top- and bottom-performing content and actionable insights, and doubling down on what's working
Work closely with the Head of Social Video, Senior Video Producer and Formats Producers to iterate and improve flagship video formats
Stay ahead of changes across the social media landscape, advising internal teams on platform updates and supporting early adoption of new features and formats
Key Skills
Proven experience managing TikTok and Instagram accounts in a brand, media or newsroom environment
Strong working knowledge of Meta Business Suite and TikTok Studio analytics, with the ability to translate data into content recommendations
Familiarity with native platform and third-party scheduling tools, such as Dash Social
Confident design skills in Figma or equivalent design software, with a strong eye for visual storytelling and the ability to produce polished, on-brand graphics
Excellent platform-native copywriting skills and an understanding of what drives engagement on each platform
Strong organisational skills, with experience maintaining content calendars and shared trackers
Experience in using Native and external scheduling tools (Dash Social)
Strong communication skills, including the ability to liaise with cross-functional stakeholders
An experimental, creative approach to growth - comfortable testing, iterating and killing underperforming formats quickly
Experience in community management, including responding to audience comments and messages in a thoughtful, on-brand tone, and using audience feedback to inform content decisions
