North Point Technology is looking to hire a Software Developer to support the design, development, and implementation of software solutions for an aeronautical navigation program. This role requires an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain CI Poly. The position operates on a hybrid schedule with a typical work week of three to four days on-site.

Responsibilities:

This position involves collaborating with Product Owners, QA Managers, architects, and development teams in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions supporting mission objectives and product requirements. The developer participates in a SAFe Agile workflow including daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Responsibilities include reviewing and implementing software requirements, supporting task execution, and contributing to deployment activities. The role applies software development and troubleshooting experience to resolve defects, maintain secure and agency-compliant code baselines, participate in code reviews, and document technical solutions. The developer also helps ensure overall system code coverage remains above 80% while supporting software quality, performance, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Software development using C#, Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Python and shell scripting
  • Web application development in a service-oriented environment (Cloud, SOA, or Web Services)
  • Version control and repository management using GitLab
  • DevOps principles and tooling for feature delivery within an Agile construct
  • SAFe Agile participation including standups, sprint planning, and Increment Planning Events
  • Agile project tracking and documentation using Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence)
  • Integration of open-source software solutions into existing GOTS codebases
  • Code review participation and defect resolution
  • Basic understanding of AI tools applied to software development, including code assistance and debugging

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • DOD software requirements and development standards
  • Government cloud environment development
  • AWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps certification
  • Systems Engineering documentation (VDDs, architecture diagrams)
  • Team collaboration tools including RocketChat
  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

Qualifications:

  • DoD 8570 compliant certification at IAT Level 2 or Level 3 (e.g., Security+)
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, Master's degree in a technical field, or Doctorate in a technical domain
  • Active Top Secret clearance with agreement to obtain CI Poly
