Software Development Intern

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Software Development Intern to support our technology team in application development, debugging, web scraping, API integration, and application maintenance. The intern will work on existing applications, FBA/FBM workflows, marketplace-related processes, and data-processing activities.

During the 90-day internship, the candidate will progressively develop technical skills, resolve application issues, contribute to development tasks, and take ownership of assigned work under the guidance of experienced team members.

Roles and Responsibilities

• •Assist with application development, maintenance, and enhancement of existing systems.
• •Understand application workflows, APIs, databases, and development practices.
• •Support web scraping activities and FBA/FBM-related workflows.
• •Identify, debug, and resolve basic application issues related to APIs, UI, validation, databases, and data processing.
• •Assist with marketplace listing enhancements, including product titles, images, variations, and marketplace-specific requirements.
• •Perform functional testing, regression testing, debugging, and post-deployment verification.
• •Support frontend and backend integration activities.
• •Assist with application deployments under the guidance of senior team members.
• •Maintain technical documentation for assigned tasks, changes, and issue resolutions.
• •Troubleshoot recurring issues, analyse application logs, and escalate complex technical problems when required.
• •Collaborate with the development team to complete assigned tasks within agreed timelines.
• •Gradually take ownership of assigned development tasks and application modules during the internship.

30-60-90-Day Performance Expectations

First 30 Days: Learning and Basic Tasks

• •Understand existing applications, workflows, APIs, and development practices.
• •Assist with basic development, scraping, testing, and bug-fixing tasks.
• •Learn FBA/FBM workflows and marketplace-related processes.
• •Support documentation and selected deployment activities under supervision.

By 60 Days: Development and Issue Resolution

• •Handle small-to-medium development tasks with limited supervision.
• •Troubleshoot application issues using logs and debugging techniques.
• •Contribute to scraping, API, database, and frontend/backend integration tasks.
• •Perform functional and regression testing and assist with deployments.

By 90 Days: Independent Task Execution

• •Independently complete assigned development and bug-fixing tasks.
• •Take ownership of assigned application modules and scraping workflows.
• •Resolve recurring issues and verify fixes after deployment.
• •Maintain technical documentation and escalate complex issues appropriately.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• •Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar technologies.
• •Understanding of APIs, HTTP requests, and API integration concepts.
• •Basic knowledge of databases and SQL.
• •Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or frontend development concepts.
• •Understanding of debugging, testing, and problem-solving techniques.
• •Interest in web scraping, automation, data processing, and application development.
• •Willingness to learn new technologies and work with existing codebases.
• •Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
• •Ability to work collaboratively and complete assigned tasks within timelines.

• •Technical Learning: Demonstrates improvement in understanding applications, APIs, databases, and development workflows.
• •Task Completion: Completes assigned development tasks within agreed timelines.
• •Bug Fixing and Debugging: Identifies, analyses, and resolves application issues with increasing independence.
• •Scraping and Workflow Support: Contributes effectively to scraping, FBA/FBM, and marketplace-related workflows.
• •Testing and Quality: Performs adequate testing and minimises recurring issues caused by assigned changes.
• •Documentation: Maintains clear and accurate technical documentation.
• •Ownership and Independence: Demonstrates progressive ownership of assigned tasks over the 90-day internship.
• •Team Collaboration: Communicates progress, raises blockers on time, and works effectively with the development team.

Internship Evaluation

The intern's performance will be reviewed at the end of 30, 60, and 90 days based on technical learning, task quality, problem-solving ability, timely delivery, and increasing independence. Successful completion of the internship will depend on overall performance and the team's evaluation.

Note: Any opportunity for full-time employment after the internship will depend on performance, business requirements, and management approval.
