Job Title: Solution Architect

Location: Glasgow

About the Job you are considering:

We are seeking experienced Solution Architect with strong expertise in Bank and Finance domain who will overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects

Hybrid working:

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Key Responsibility:

  • Define and drive the Bank's strategic architecture vision, roadmap, and technology direction across specialist technology domains, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term technology strategy.
  • Provide deep technical expertise in the design, evaluation, and governance of complex enterprise architectures, supporting key stakeholders in making informed technology investment and architectural decisions.
  • Lead and coordinate Solution Architects across programmes and initiatives, fostering architectural excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning within the architecture community.
  • Drive innovative engineering and technology transformation initiatives by collaborating with technical experts and senior stakeholders to solve complex business and technology challenges.
  • Establish, maintain, and promote enterprise architecture standards, principles, governance frameworks, and best practices to ensure consistency, scalability, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify, assess, and recommend emerging technologies, industry trends, and innovation opportunities that can deliver strategic value and support the Bank's future technology landscape.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, engineering teams, architects, and technology stakeholders, building strong partnerships to ensure successful solution adoption and delivery outcomes.
  • Champion architecture governance and review processes, ensuring solutions meet enterprise standards for security, resilience, risk management, performance, and operational excellence.
  • Influence senior leadership and key decision-makers by providing clear, evidence-based architectural recommendations and advocating for optimal technology solutions.
  • Lead complex, high-impact technology programmes and cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture strategy and business priorities.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop architecture and engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
  • Contribute to organization-wide strategic planning by providing expert input into technology policies, operating models, investment decisions, and long-term business transformation initiatives.
  • Support resource planning, budgeting, and prioritization activities for architecture and technology functions, ensuring efficient utilization of capabilities and investments.
  • Serve as a recognized technology thought leader, driving the adoption of modern engineering practices, new ways of working, and continuous enhancement of architectural capabilities across the organization.
  • Provide expert advice to senior management, leadership forums, and governance committees on matters impacting technology strategy, operational risk, regulatory compliance, and enterprise-wide transformation programs
