Solutions Architect - Security

Role summary

The Security Solutions Architect will lead customer-facing security architecture and pre-sales activities across the Central region, with a primary focus on security solutions supporting secure networking, data center, and AI environments. They will turn customer business and security requirements into practical architectures, roadmaps, bills of material, and implementation plans. The role will partner with GDT account teams, engineers, architects, and practice leads to develop holistic solutions.

Key responsibilities

• •Lead discovery sessions, technical workshops, assessments, and security roadmap discussions with customers.
• •Design secure network, data center, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure architectures aligned to customer outcomes.
• •Apply expertise in firewalls and perimeter security, intrusion prevention, security monitoring and SIEM, vulnerability management, identity and access management, risk management, and secure network architecture.
• •Develop Cisco-focused security recommendations, solution designs, bills of material, demonstrations, and technical responses to RFPs.
• •Support Cisco security sales motions, including secure networking, next-generation firewall refresh, SASE, and security for AI and data center environments.
• •Partner with Cisco sellers and Systems Engineers to build qualified pipeline, improve technical win rates, and support customer adoption of Cisco security investments.
• •Translate technical recommendations into clear business value, risk reduction, and operational outcomes.
• •Contribute to project scoping, statements of work, customer presentations, and handoff to delivery teams.

Preferred qualifications

• •Strong experience designing enterprise network security and infrastructure solutions.
• •Customer-facing experience in technical discovery, solution design, presentations, and solution selling.
• •Working knowledge of Cisco security and secure networking technologies, with the ability to align Cisco capabilities to data center and AI requirements.
• •Experience with firewalls, IPS, SIEM, vulnerability management, IAM, cloud and hybrid security, SASE, and security policy development.
• •Strong written and verbal communication, technical writing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• •Cisco CCNP Security preferred; CCIE Security or comparable security certifications are a plus.
• •Experience with NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS, or similar security and compliance frameworks is helpful.
