Solutions Engineer (L&P)

Summary:

Primarily provides pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions. Uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations. Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions. May create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions. May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client. May provide consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support for PIC Characterization: Assist customers in testing Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) at the wafer or die level.

Ecosystem Collaboration: Work with probe station partners and laser source integration for SiPh

testing workflows.

• •Cover all Fiber Optics labs product of VIAVI portfolio; OSA, Fiber Inspection Tools, power meter & laser source, IL/RL tester, Optical Amplifiers, Optical switches, swept wavelength systems, component analyzers, Tunable filters, Polarization controllers, Broadband sources C&L band etc.
• •To work closely with customers R&D, NPI and manufacturing to provide optical testing solutions.
• •Develop a good understanding of customer requirements and provide appropriate technical recommendations
• •Support product/solution demos and on-site trials, coordinating with Sales and Division.
• •Support customers in setting up and starting their testing activities using VIAVI products.
• •Prepare and maintain customer-specific test procedures, application notes and other technical documentation with guidance from senior team members.

• •Assist with customer training and product/application education.
• •Support product and technology presentations at customer meetings, road shows and seminars as required.
• •Share customer feedback and application requirements with the Sales and Division teams.
• •Work closely with Sales, TAC, Division and other internal technical teams to support customer requirements.
