About Us

Are you driven by the complexity of specialty medicine and the intensity of emergency and critical care? Do you excel in fast‑paced Specialty and ER/ICU environments where advanced technical skills, critical thinking, and meticulous, high‑level nursing are essential?

AVSG/VSSOC is growing, and we are excited to welcome experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians to our team for part time or relief shifts . This role offers the opportunity to work alongside Board‑Certified Criticalists, Surgeons, Internists, and Emergency Clinicians , supported by a highly skilled, collaborative team of RVTs and veterinary assistants dedicated to outstanding patient care.

Skillset

Venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection

Diagnostic imaging assistance and basic interpretation (radiographs, ultrasound support)

Anesthesia monitoring (vitals, depth assessment, adjustments)

Medication calculation and administration (IV, IM, SQ, CRIs)

Fluid therapy setup and maintenance

Surgical prep, sterile technique, and instrument handling

Patient monitoring (vitals, pain scoring, trend recognition)

Nursing care for hospitalized patients (nutrition, wound care, hygiene)

What you'll bring

Registered Veterinary Technician required

2+ years working in a veterinary clinic

Emergency or Specialty experience preferred, but not required

Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community we serve

Reliable, organized, and committed to provide high level care to our patients and clients

A craving for lifelong learning and continuous improvements

Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected

Schedules

Part time and relief

Open to days, swings and overnights

Shifts in ECC and Surgery / Anesthesia

Compensation

$30.00 - $45.00 an hour

Based on skillset, experience and credentials (RVT or VTS)

Shift differentials for swings, overnights and weekends
