• Job Overview
• The Sr Specimen Management Associate is responsible for various activities associated with receipt, storage, and shipment of clinical specimens. Responsible for equipment maintenance. Guides entry level staff on routine procedures.

• Essential Functions
• •Responsible for accessioning, shipment and storage of samples, and problem resolution ensuring all samples are accurately identified, sorted and labeled for testing and/or storage.
• •Responsible for freezer and inventory maintenance.
• •Monitors scheduled and ad hoc requests to ensure timely completion.
• •Guides entry level staff on department procedures and the on-boarding of new staff.
• •Responsible for identifying areas of risk that may impact client deliverables.
• •Supports and responds to after-hour alarms and/or other job critical functions.
• •Assists in the review and development of Specimen Management procedures and techniques.
• •Assists in the implementation of changes as assigned.
• •Notifies inventory staff of supply shortages.
• •Performs various other duties as required. Performs some activities in another functional area as required.
• •Dependent upon functional area, may also handle receipt of compounds and control material.
• •May represent Specimen Management team on cross functional projects.
• •Participates in continuing education through self-study, attending training sessions and meetings.
• •Supports safety, quality, and 6S requirements and initiatives.
• •Performs work in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines.

• Qualifications
• •High School Diploma or equivalent Req
• •1 year of related experience.
• •Requires basic level knowledge of systems and procedures in assigned functional area obtained through prior work experience or education.
• •Demonstrates understanding of functional area and responsibilities.
• •Experience providing training and mentoring, participation in presentations, participation in group projects, and coordinating operational activities.
• •Good computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• •Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• •Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• •Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.
