JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose

This position handles raw material processing including washing, spin drying and operating food processing machinery. This is a physically demanding role which requires working in a wet and cold environment.

Responsibilities

• •Arrange, organize, and transfer raw material.
• •Wash and spin dry raw material using spin drying machine.
• •Lift up to 70 lbs or more on a frequent basis to transfer or palletize product.
• •Assist in inspecting food quality to
• •Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
• •Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
• •Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
• •Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.

Experience

• •0-1 years of experience
• •Previous experience in food processing or warehouse distribution considered an asset.
• •Previous experience operating power equipment such as a Forklift is considered an asset.

Physical Demands

• •High repetitive stretching, lifting and bending.
• •Reasonable accommodations will be taken where necessary
• •Repetitive handle 50 to 80 lb (70%).
• •Operate food processing machinery (20%).
• •Organize product includes transportation by pallet jack in production area and wrapping pallet (10%).
• •Noisy environment, hearing protection provided.
• •Wet and cool environment (4 to 7 degrees Celsius, 100%)
• •May require operating Rider and Manual pallet jack.
