Applied AI Solutions Architects in AWS help customers build and use AI agents to transform how work gets done. You will design and productionize agentic systems using services like Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore, build and contribute to open-source AI accelerators, and help customers adopt AI-native software development practices.

The role splits roughly 50/50 between direct customer engagements and building leverage through reusable assets, open source, and thought leadership. In customer work, you will guide customer teams to leverage AI services and frameworks. You'll work hands-on to unblock adoption and ensure solutions are secure, reliable, and cost-effective. In your building time, you will create reference implementations, contribute to open-source projects, and develop content that enables the broader community. You will work closely with AWS service teams to close the loop between what customers need and what AWS builds.

This is a global role within the Solutions Architect organization. You will maintain deep relationships with AI service teams and collaborate with specialists and builder customers across regions to stay current on capabilities and influence roadmaps.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • - Design end-to-end agentic solutions for customers by understanding their business objectives, clarifying assumptions, and making informed trade-off decisions across areas such as model selection, orchestration patterns, tool and context design, evaluation and guardrails, and latency/cost optimization.
  • - Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, diving deeply into technical details, identifying opportunities and risks, and contributing to constructive discussions that accelerate platform and service adoption.
  • - Leverage existing design patterns and reusable artifacts where appropriate, and create new solution designs with potential for future reuse when novel approaches are required.
  • - Develop and deliver technical content such as presentations, workshops, sample code, and white papers that educate customers on best practices and incorporate lessons learned from real-world engagements.
  • - Collaborate with internal teams including sales, engineering, and support to translate customer feedback into technical requirements, resolve root-cause issues, and progress opportunities through their lifecycle.
  • A day in the life
  • You start your morning reviewing a customer's architecture proposal, preparing feedback on their scaling strategy and security posture before a design review call. After the call, you sketch out an updated reference architecture that addresses the constraints discussed. In the afternoon, you collaborate with an engineering team to document a feature request a customer raised, then wrap up by refining a workshop you are building to share best practices with a broader customer audience.
  • About the team

The team builds a portfolio of domain-specific Tech Field Products such as semantics, data engineering, ML, AI security/governance/agent-ops, and DevOps. Each product is grounded in customer reality.
