What You'll Do:

As a Senior Field Auto Appraiser, you will serve as a trusted expert in evaluating vehicle damage, negotiating repairs, and guiding customers through the claims process. This role requires extensive field experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to independently manage complex claims.

Key Responsibilities:

• •Inspect vehicle damage in the field and through virtual appraisal methods.
• •Prepare accurate repair estimates using industry-standard estimating software.
• •Negotiate repair costs and settlements with body shops, tow yards, storage facilities, and other involved parties.
• •Evaluate and settle total loss claims, including Actual Cash Value (ACV) determinations.
• •Review supplemental damage requests and perform re-inspections as necessary.
• •Maintain clear communication with customers throughout the claims process.
• •Document claims thoroughly and prepare professional correspondence and reports.
• •Assist Material Damage leadership with complex claims and difficult negotiations.
• •Mentor and support new team members during onboarding and training.
• •Ensure compliance with company guidelines, Department of Insurance regulations, and industry standards.

Required Qualifications:

• •10+ years of auto damage appraisal and vehicle estimating experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
• •Extensive experience handling:
• •Collision damage estimates
• •Supplemental repairs
• •Total loss evaluations
• •Complex vehicle damage claims
• •Strong working knowledge of estimating platforms such as CCC One, Mitchell, Audatex, or similar software.
• •Proven negotiation experience with repair facilities, tow providers, and storage vendors.
• •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• •Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
• •Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• •Ability to successfully pass a background check.
• •Ability to obtain and maintain an Independent Adjuster License when required.
• •Preferred Qualifications
• •College degree preferred.
• •Previous experience mentoring, coaching, or training team members.
• •Multi-state claims handling experience.

Working Conditions:

• •Field-based position requiring travel throughout assigned territory.
• •Hybrid and virtual appraisal capabilities available when appropriate.
• •Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.
• •Frequent use of computers, estimating software, and mobile technology.
• •Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift light objects.
• •Regular vehicle travel within assigned counties.
