Sr. Cloud Engineer

Our Global Cloud Team is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer based in Shanghai to lead the design, governance, and optimization of infrastructure for our top-tier business operations.

In this role, you will shape the future of our hybrid-cloud ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business objectives while driving innovation, security, and cost efficiency across AWS/AliCloud, and DataCenter.

You will own end-to-end responsibility for developing and executing hybrid-cloud strategies that empower our global logistics network. Your mission will include:

• •Designing enterprise-grade hybrid-cloud architectures that integrate compute, storage, networking, and security services to meet the demands of a rapidly growing, multinational business.
• •Building scalable frameworks for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, ensuring compliance, resilience, and seamless cross-regional collaboration.
• •Partnering with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical blueprints, balancing innovation with operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Enterprise Cloud Strategy & Architecture

• •Define and govern the enterprise cloud architecture framework, ensuring alignment with corporate IT strategy, security policies and compliance standards.
• •Architect multi-cloud/hybrid solutions (AliCloud/AWS) that integrate compute, storage, networking, and security services (e.g., VPC/Express Route, IAM, PaaS/SaaS solutions).

2. Operational Excellence & Troubleshooting:

• •Demonstrated hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving complex hybrid-cloud infrastructure issues (e.g., IAM misconfigurations, storage performance bottlenecks) across multi-cloud/hybrid environments.
• •Build, operate, and continuously optimize enterprise virtualization platforms based on VMware ESXi and/or Nutanix AHV, ensuring platform availability, performance, capacity, security, and OpEx.
• •Lead virtualization platform lifecycle activities, including deployment, configuration, patching/upgrades, capacity planning, health monitoring, incident troubleshooting, and technical remediation in collaboration with infrastructure vendors and Managed Service Providers.
• •Record of leading incident response efforts for critical outages, including post-mortem analysis, mitigation planning, and implementing preventive guardrails.

3.Operational Optimization

Monitor and optimize cloud performance using observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch) to ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency.

4.Executive-Level Communication:

• •Demonstrated ability to articulate complex hybrid-cloud architectures, trade-offs and business value to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives, regional business leaders, and external partners.
• •Proven experience facilitating cross-functional workshops, negotiating technical requirements and driving consensus among geographically dispersed teams.
• •Expertise in creating clear, audience-tailored deliverables such as architecture diagrams, executive briefings, and cost-benefit analyses.

5.Global Collaboration:

• •Ability to navigate cultural nuances and time zones, ensuring inclusive communication and alignment across global teams.
• •Fluency in English (written/spoken) is mandatory.

Required competencies and skills

Education requirement

Bachelor’s or above in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related engineering discipline

Technical Expertise & Experiences:

• •Experience integrating on-premises virtualization platforms with public cloud environments such as AWS/AliCloud as part of enterprise hybrid-cloud architectures.
• •Proven track record in leading enterprise cloud migrations (>400 workloads), hybrid-cloud integrations, and multi-region deployments.
• •Strong analytical mindset with expertise in creating architecture decision records (ADRs), solution blueprints and risk mitigation plans.
• •Mastery of cloud-native services:
• •Compute: ECS/EC2, EBS, ELB, S3/OSS
• •Networking: VPC peering, Transit Gateway, DNS.
• •Security: IAM policies, KMS, Secrets Manager, DDoS protection.
• •Exceptional ability to communicate cross-functionally within a highly energetic team. Strong stakeholder engagement (internal and external) with the ability to influence.
• •Comfortable working independently and dealing with ambiguity. Able to operate successfully in a rapidly changing, and undefined environment
• •Proactive, disciplined, organized, self-starter and highly motivated

Communication & Soft Skills

• •Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership and translating technical concepts into business value.
• •Exceptional verbal and written English communications and presentation skills.

Certifications (Preferred)

• •Architectural Credentials: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Alibaba Cloud ACE.
• •Industry Standards: ITIL 4.
