Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist – Rental to transform digital behavioral data into actionable insights that strengthen site performance, optimize digital investments, and drive Rental revenue and customer growth. Although titled Data Scientist, this role is centered heavily on advanced site analytics and digital performance.

In this role, you will use hands-on Google Analytics data to define, track, and analyze core site metrics; evaluate conversion funnels and digital customer journeys; and identify opportunities to improve engagement, lead generation, and business outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on proficiency in GA4, BigQuery, Python, and SQL, along with experience in GA4 data governance, site performance insights, conversion analysis, lead value estimation, attribution modeling, and causal inference. You will collaborate across business, product, and technical teams to translate complex clickstream data into clear recommendations and scalable measurement solutions.

What will you do? (Essential Responsibilities)

Drive a data-driven product development culture to optimize digital investments, increasing Rental revenue, and expanding the customer base through enhanced dealer operations and improved product utilization.

  • Strategic Collaboration and Execution: Collaborate with senior leadership, product owners, and RU Strategy team to develop and execute the R&U BI/Analytics roadmap, aligning it with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Data Analysis and Requirements Gathering: Conduct in-depth analysis of complex business data, providing valuable insights to support strategic initiatives and operational efficiency. Gather and document business requirements for BI & Analytics, defining KPIs and metrics.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail : Extensive Experience with the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Analytical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Machine Learning: Extensive knowledge of principles, technologies and algorithms of machine learning; ability to develop, implement and deliver related systems, products and services.
  • Programming Languages: Extensive knowledge of basic concepts and capabilities of applying Python programming to solve business challenges; ability to use tools, techniques and platforms in order to write and modify programming languages.
  • Query and Database Access Tools: Extensive knowledge of data management systems; ability to use, support and access facilities for searching, extracting and formatting data for further use.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Desire BS or higher degree in a quantitative discipline such as data science, data analytics, computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics, finance, or other related degree and 6+ years of professional experience utilizing quantitative analysis/ data management (data design, data quality, metadata, governance, etc.) is required, a Master’s degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience. OR equivalent working experience
  • Proficiency in BI tools, Python and SQL, GA4, BigQuery.
  • Experience with AWS services, Cloud ELT/ETL, Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning, and data visualization packages like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Knowledge of AWS services, Cloud ELT/ETL, Data Lake solutions (Snowflake/AWS) and applied knowledge of stackable solutions and automation techniques is a plus.
  • Must demonstrate strong initiative, interpersonal skills, Strong consultative skills, and the ability to communicate and tell compelling stories with data.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR TOP CANDIDATES:

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree in Applied Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence & Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Science + X, Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Industrial, Agricultural, etc.), Informatics, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, MBA with Technical Undergrad, Predictive Analytics, Statistics, or equivalent technical degree.
  • Extensive experience applying Python (NumPy, SciPy, pandas, etc) programming to solve business challenges.
  • Extensive experience (typically 3 years+) with advanced data analysis and statistical methods such as regression, hypothesis testing, ANOVA, statistical process control, etc.
  • Extensive experience in practical applications of Machine Learning techniques such as Clustering, Logistic Regression, Random Forests, SVM or Neural Networks.
  • In-depth technical and problem-solving skills and evidence of continuous learning in the analytics field
