Are you passionate about designing and building the systems that power some of the world's most critical infrastructure? As a Data Center Infrastructure Engineer III, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for the design, architecture, and continuous improvement of data center infrastructure systems. You will tackle complex, ambiguous challenges that span global teams and deliver solutions with lasting impact on how Amazon operates at scale.
In this role, you will own the infrastructure architecture for your facilities, driving engineering best practices and setting standards that raise the bar for quality, performance, and operational reliability. You will influence technology strategy, mentor fellow engineers, and lead cross-functional projects that simplify systems and expand their capabilities. If you are a creative problem solver who thrives on turning complexity into elegant, maintainable solutions, we want to hear from you.
- Key job responsibilities
- - Lead the design and architecture of data center infrastructure systems, taking ownership of system-wide guidance and ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and maintainable across global facilities.
- - Drive resolution of complex technical problems by identifying root causes, evaluating trade-offs and constraints, and implementing solutions that balance short-term operational needs with long-term business goals.
- - Collaborate with cross-functional partner teams and stakeholders to align on infrastructure strategy, lead project and design reviews, and communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- - Develop and implement new mechanisms that simplify infrastructure systems, improve reliability, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- - Coach and mentor engineers within your organization, contributing to their professional development and strengthening the team's overall technical capability.
- A day in the life
- You might start your morning reviewing design proposals for a new infrastructure deployment, providing feedback that shapes the direction of a multi-region project. Later, you collaborate with partner engineering teams to resolve an architectural challenge, weighing technical trade-offs and building alignment on the path forward. In the afternoon, you mentor a fellow engineer through a complex design problem, then wrap up by analyzing emerging data center technologies to inform your team's long-term strategy.
- About the team
