Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

DePuy Synthes is a global leader in Orthopaedics, advancing patient care through innovative solutions across joint reconstruction, trauma, spine, sports medicine, and related surgical technologies. As DePuy Synthes separates from Johnson & Johnson to become the world’s largest, most comprehensive Orthopaedics-focused company, the organization is entering a defining chapter—establishing its own corporate identity, voice, culture, and reputation while continuing to serve patients, customers, and healthcare systems around the world.

Job Overview

This is a senior leader role responsible for defining and executing the digital strategy across DePuy Synthes’ end-to-end supply chain. This role serves as a strategic technology partner to Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics, Distribution, Quality, and other business functions, delivering technology products, platforms, and process innovations that improve operational efficiency, visibility, resilience, decision-making, and customer outcomes. In this role, you will establish strategic roadmaps, govern a portfolio of supply chain technology investments, and lead complex transformation initiatives across a global, matrixed organization. The role will partner with business, technology, data, and operational leaders to translate complex business challenges into scalable digital capabilities and executable requirements.

This position requires a leader who combines deep supply chain knowledge, technology product and platform management experience, and strong organizational leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the multi-year Supply Chain Digitization strategy, aligning technology investments and transformation priorities with enterprise strategy, business objectives, and customer needs.
  • Establish the technology vision and strategic roadmap for digital capabilities supporting the end-to-end supply chain, including planning, manufacturing, logistics, distribution, and inventory management.
  • Serve as a strategic technology partner to Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Data, and other business and functional leaders.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and adoption of digital solutions, technology products, platforms, and process improvements that modernize supply chain operations and deliver measurable business value.
  • Direct large-scale, cross-functional transformation initiatives, including governance, prioritization, resource allocation, execution planning, approvals, risk management, and stakeholder communications.
  • Provide strategic leadership for supply chain technology capabilities, including planning and forecasting, manufacturing and product supply, logistics and distribution, and inventory and asset optimization.
  • Advance smart manufacturing and connected supply chain capabilities through technologies such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP Integrated Business Planning, manufacturing execution systems, artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, automation, Industrial Internet of Things, digital twins, and connected worker solutions.
  • Establish scalable, repeatable processes and operating models that improve operational efficiency, supply chain visibility, decision quality, business agility, and customer outcomes.
  • Govern the portfolio of supply chain technology investments and establish appropriate delivery methodologies, performance measures, and value-realization processes.
  • Monitor program performance, risks, dependencies, financial performance, and value realization, implementing corrective actions when needed to maintain alignment with business objectives.
  • Establish global process standards, technology governance, solution scalability, and integration across supply chain, quality, finance, regulatory, and related enterprise functions.
  • Partner with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Privacy, Security, and Compliance stakeholders to support validated, secure, compliant, and audit-ready supply chain technology environments.
  • Manage strategic relationships with technology vendors, platform providers, and system integrators supporting the supply chain technology portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Education
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Data and Analytics, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree or MBA in a relevant discipline

Experience and Skills Required

  • Significant progressive leadership experience in technology, supply chain transformation, digital strategy, technology product and platform management, manufacturing, operations, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale, cross-functional digital transformation initiatives within complex, global organizations.
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including planning, manufacturing, logistics, distribution, and inventory management.
  • Experience developing and executing technology strategies, product or platform roadmaps, investment portfolios, and transformation programs that deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience leading senior leaders, multidisciplinary teams, and individual contributors in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Strong knowledge of digital technologies, enterprise platforms, data and analytics, and technology-enabled business process transformation.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex and ambiguous business challenges into scalable solutions, clear priorities, and executable requirements.
  • Experience with strategic planning, portfolio governance, resource management, risk management, financial oversight, and business value realization.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
