This role is based in DeSoto, Texas and the incumbent will provide Facility Engineering technical support. The incumbent must be a critical thinker and be comfortable operating in a dynamic manufacturing environment supporting multiple buildings, 24/7 operations, multiple engineering disciplines and complex equipment.

This position is accountable for preparing and implementing schedules, estimates, and coordinating facility projects in relation to the installation, relocation, and modification of existing facility and test cell systems, equipment, and operational capabilities. Assists with the design of facility, test cell, and building equipment and the preparation of engineering drawings and specifications. Schedules and coordinates work of outside contractors and vendors to ensure adherence to specifications, building codes, and project completion schedules. Prepares project estimates, schedules, and purchase requisitions and assists with facility and test cell expansion planning, repairs, and rehabilitation.

What you will do:

This position supports all aspects of Maintenance and Facilities with the priorities and agenda set forth by Facilities Leadership.

Interacts with different levels of inter-organizational personnel, vendors, and consultants. May represent the company in meetings with governmental and public utility authorities that relate to construction codes, safety policies and regulations, OSHA, environmental and utility services.

Strong customer interaction skills, ability to identify and solve problems independently and strong computer literacy are critical for success. Managing a wide variety of activities, programs, and projects with a sense of urgency and with attention to detail is also expected. Working in a team environment is critical and providing direction to others with different cultural and technical backgrounds is necessary for success.

This position directly reports to the Facility Operations and Planning Manager.

Primary Challenges and Responsibilities:

Provide technical and logistical support to help resolve complex facility and test cell issues.

Schedule and coordinate the work of outside contractors and vendors ensuring safety and quality.

Prepares and implement project plans and schedules.

Provides guidance and subject expertise to facilities personnel and leadership in a continuous effort to improve facilities operations.

Adheres to established industry and enterprise standards, policies and practices relating to safety, quality, schedule, cost, accounting, purchasing and regulatory compliance in performing assigned duties.

Participate in the implementation of continuous improvements projects, space planning projects and projects increasing capacity.

What you will have:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction engineering/management or related discipline.

7+ years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or facility project management.

High energy level and sense of urgency, ability to manage multiple priorities.

Team player with passion for customer service, problem solving, learning and continuous improvement.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in MS Office Applications.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks

What will set you apart:

Deep understanding and extensive expertise in specific fields of facilities such as planning, design, construction, operations, office services and/or maintenance, and building and infrastructure systems such as civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, HVAC, electrical and/or controls.

Familiarity with modern construction, building codes and methods.

Project management experience and capital planning.

Advanced computer skills; Excel reports/charting, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, MS Project, MS Teams and SharePoint

Knowledgeable in 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles

Summary Pay Range:

$112,704.00 - $169,056.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
