Job Description

As the Senior Manager, Consumer Insights for North American portfolio, you will have the opportunity to directly impact and influence the future strategic direction of iconic and energetic brands. In this role, you will help develop and implement the strategy on all brands, influencing key decisions across base & innovation marketing groups, from consumer targeting and brand strategy/positioning to renovation and near-in innovation decisions (i.e., LTOs), to communication evaluation (and more). This is a new role in a newly created central function, building standards to evaluate & improve performance of the total North American portfolio.

The Role – Key Skills:

Strategic : Be a key strategic business partner to Marketing team and a transformational leader. Present advanced understanding of the consumer, research methodologies/techniques, marketplace drivers, standard processes and experience to drive the business forward

Strong Business Competence -Understands how to diagnose and level up critical business issues/business metrics/knowledge gaps with an eye for translating these into landing the right ‘business questions’ to solve on the consumer front

Influential : Influence at all levels of organization (above & below) and work seamlessly with cross-functional teams

Impactful : Influence so-what’s" by making actionable recommendations routed in deep understanding of market dynamics, our business and consumer

An Owner : Ownership mentality, think and act like a start-up, and build out a function against a blank slate. Apply expertise & instincts to shape our North American approaches & standards

Analytical : Ability to work with data and recognize patterns to advise brand actions.

Key responsibilities

Strategic insights' partner to the North American Snacks Team:

Be key Strategic Insight lead across full North American portfolio of brands

Develop comprehensive research best practices for both existing products and new products from scoping, ideation, testing and post-decision analysis, packaging graphics and structure, advertising testing, etc.

Lead yearly strategic grounding analyses for supporting categories in preparation for situational assessment and the brand planning cycle.

Help develop and influence research Best Practices for the organization. This includes methodologies, vendor assessment, delivery expectations, and communication to a broad set of Insights counterparts & cross-functional teams

Requires working in high levels of ambiguity, creating strategic direction for growth.

Qualifications

Strong experience in strategic insights/consumer analytics roles, preferably at a CPG manufacturer or a combination of CPG and vendor/agency side experience showcasing increasing responsibilities and scope.

Proficient in various market research techniques, especially quantitative methods. Interaction with modeling processes or results a plus (i.e., Marketing Mix, Price & Promotion)

Thrives in agile ways of working and has a track record of collaboration with cross-functional partners like Marketing, R&D, Sales & Category Leadership, Sensory, Finance and more.

Experience working with both primary and secondary data sources

Solid understanding of syndicated research tools (e.g. Nielsen, Circana, Mintel, etc).

Proven track record to distill insights and drive impact into an organization – bringing the consumer to forefront.

High level of tolerance for working in ambiguity, managing change and leading change management.

Proficient at storytelling in creative and impactful ways - excellent communication, organization and presentation skills (written, oral, and across Microsoft Office Suite). Deep experience in Excel is desirable.

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$120,800.00 - $151,000.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
