Sr. Manager, Software Development, Amazon FAI

Lead a team of engineers building the systems and infrastructure that power data generation and quality assessment for Artificial Intelligence (AI) post-training and evaluation assets at Amazon. As part of Frontier AI Assets (FAI), your team will deliver software solutions that enable the organization to generate, process, and manage SOTA quality assets used to train and evaluate Amazon's foundational AI models.

As Sr Software Development Manager (SDM), you will own the technical direction and execution for your team, partnering closely with applied scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable systems that directly impact the quality and scale of AI training data.

• Key job responsibilities
• Lead technical vision and execution for software systems that support FAI data generation and processing at scale

Manage and mentor a high-performing team of software engineers, driving technical excellence and career growth

Drive architectural decisions for scalable, reliable systems that handle large volumes of data

Own end-to-end delivery of software systems, from design through deployment and operations

Partner with applied scientists and product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Define and maintain technical roadmaps aligned with FAI organizational goals

Make data-driven decisions to improve system performance, reliability, and developer productivity

Lead cross-team initiatives and represent your team in engineering and business forums

Ensure operational excellence across all services owned by your team

Basic qualifications

• - 10+ years of engineering experience
• - 5+ years of engineering team management experience
• - 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
• - Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• - Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment

Preferred qualifications

• - Experience partnering with product and program management teams
• - Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
