The Role

AspenTech is the world's leading supplier of software that optimizes process manufacturing.

We have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Senior Payroll Analyst to support accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations across Latin America, with responsibility for Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina. This role applies strong Mexico payroll expertise and broader LATAM payroll knowledge to independently manage assigned payroll activities, analyze and resolve moderately complex issues, and coordinate effectively with employees, HR, Finance, Treasury, payroll providers, and other partners.

The primary purpose of this role is to execute and control payroll processes for assigned entities across Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina, from approved payroll inputs through validation, reconciliation, country-specific statutory administration, payment support, and issue resolution. The role works within established policies and broad guidelines, exercises judgment in day-to-day decisions, and escalates matters involving significant risk, policy interpretation, or exceptional complexity.

As a P3 / IC3 senior professional, this individual is expected to work with limited day-to-day instruction, solve moderately complex problems, contribute analytical insight, lead defined payroll projects or workstreams with limited risk and resource requirements, and serve as a knowledgeable resource to team members without formal people-management accountability.

Your Impact

LATAM Payroll Processing & Administration

Independently coordinate and execute assigned payroll cycles across Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina, ensuring approved earnings, deductions, withholdings, employee changes, and payroll events are processed accurately and on schedule.

Upload, validate, and reconcile approved payroll events and employee additions across applicable HCM, payroll, and financial systems, including Workday, ADP/Celergo, or other assigned platforms.

Review payroll inputs and outputs, investigate variances, confirm corrections, and escalate material exceptions or high-risk issues as appropriate.

Coordinate regular and off-cycle payroll activities with internal stakeholders and external payroll providers, maintaining clear milestones, approvals, and supporting documentation.

Prepare monthly payroll accruals and support annual payroll accumulation reconciliations when applicable.

Maintain accurate payroll records and process documentation in accordance with company requirements, retention standards, and established controls.

LATAM Statutory Payroll Compliance

Prepare, validate, and coordinate required payroll, tax, social security, and benefits information for country-specific statutory reporting and filings across Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina.

Administer recurring country-specific payroll compliance activities, including employee and employer contributions, mandated deductions, benefit-related requirements, government registrations, reconciliations, and approved system updates.

Reconcile payroll results with applicable government, provider, and internal records; investigate discrepancies; and coordinate correction files, notices, or adjustments based on approved instructions.

Prepare payroll tax and social security accruals, calculations, statutory payment files, and supporting documentation for review and authorization in accordance with local requirements and company controls.

Monitor changes in applicable payroll, tax, labor-related social security, benefits, and statutory requirements across the assigned LATAM countries; assess operational impacts and coordinate updates to processes, systems, controls, calendars, and vendor instructions.

Support statutory reviews and audits by preparing reconciliations, payroll evidence, calculation support, and responses within assigned areas.

Payroll Controls, Reconciliation & Risk Management

Perform payroll audits and reconciliations by employee, entity, department, location, payroll register, statutory record, and accounting output, as applicable; investigate and resolve identified discrepancies.

Validate payroll payment files, statutory payment support, and related control evidence before routing items for required review and authorization.

Apply company pay policies and local payroll requirements consistently, identifying situations that require interpretation or escalation.

Maintain effective operational controls over payroll inputs, data changes, approvals, interfaces, vendor deliverables, and payroll results.

Identify recurring errors and control gaps, perform root-cause analysis, and implement practical corrective actions within established governance.

Employee, Vendor & Cross-Functional Partnership

Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned LATAM payroll matters, providing clear and timely support to employees and internal partners while providing confidential information.

Coordinate day-to-day activities with payroll providers, tax and social security partners, and benefit vendors across the assigned countries, including routine administration, issue resolution, deliverable tracking, and payment support.

Partner with HR, People Services, Benefits, Compensation, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, HRIS, and external providers to resolve payroll issues and complete required payroll and statutory activities.

Exchange complex or sensitive payroll information clearly, document decisions and follow-up actions, and guide stakeholders on payroll requirements and deadlines.

Monitor assigned vendor deliverables and support tickets, follow issues through resolution, and escalate service or compliance risks when needed.

Projects, Systems & Continuous Improvement

Lead defined LATAM payroll projects or workstreams with limited risk and resource requirements, including process changes, system testing, country payroll transitions, vendor changes, or control improvements.

Analyze payroll data and process performance to identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, control effectiveness, documentation, and employee experience.

Develop and maintain payroll procedures, checklists, calendars, training materials, and knowledge articles for assigned activities.

Act as a resource for other team members and provide practical guidance or knowledge sharing without formal supervisory responsibility.

Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.

What You'll Need

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Typically, 5-8 years of related payroll experience, including required hands-on experience managing or supporting Mexico payroll; additional experience with payroll in Brazil, Colombia, and/or Argentina is strongly preferred. An advanced degree may reduce the experience requirement.

Conceptual and practical expertise in Mexico payroll operations, together with working knowledge of broader LATAM HR, finance, accounting, tax, social security, benefits, and statutory processes; knowledge of Brazil, Colombia, and/or Argentina payroll practices is preferred.

Practical experience interpreting and administering country-specific payroll requirements, including statutory filings, taxes, social security contributions, mandated deductions, benefit administration, payment support, and local payroll control
