the posting
Amazon's Quick Commerce team is revolutionizing the customer experience through sub-30-minute delivery by rapidly scaling a first-of-its-kind micro-fulfillment network across North America. We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Pre-Construction Manager to serve as a senior individual contributor responsible for leading pre-construction strategy and execution across a portfolio of complex retail and logistics projects.
This role is ideal for a strategic builder who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and can influence cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions. The Sr. Pre-Construction Manager will own site due diligence, design development, budgeting, permitting strategy, procurement coordination, and pre-construction execution while partnering closely with Real Estate, Design, Construction, Launch, Operations, Legal, and external consultants. This individual will play a critical role in enabling accelerated delivery timelines while maintaining high standards for cost, quality, and operational readiness.
Successful candidates bring deep experience in construction management, architecture, engineering, development, or owner-side project delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise, operational rigor, executive communication skills, and the ability to influence without direct authority while driving complex initiatives across a broad stakeholder network.
- Key job responsibilities
- - Own pre-construction strategy and execution across a portfolio of Quick Commerce tenant improvement and conversion projects, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, budget, and launch milestones.
- - Lead site due diligence activities, including entitlement review, utility coordination, zoning analysis, permitting strategy, MEP feasibility, and landlord coordination.
- - Drive cross-functional alignment with Real Estate, Design, Construction, Launch, Operations, Finance, and Legal to enable successful project delivery.
- - Develop and implement standardized processes, scalable mechanisms, and reporting tools that improve portfolio execution and support network expansion.
- - Lead RFP development, bid leveling, contractor and consultant procurement, and pre-construction budgeting activities.
- - Review conceptual and detailed designs to optimize operational functionality, constructability, schedule, and cost.
- - Identify, assess, and resolve permitting, jurisdictional, landlord, utility, and design risks throughout the pre-construction lifecycle.
- - Present project status, budgets, schedules, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
- - Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing costs, shortening project timelines, increasing launch readiness, and improving program standardization.
- - Partner with Construction and Launch teams to ensure seamless transitions from pre-construction through project execution and operational handoff.
- - Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and influencing strategic decisions across the broader Quick Commerce development portfolio.
- About the team
- Amazon's Quick Commerce team manages projects from site selection through operational handoff, enabling one of Amazon's fastest-growing and most innovative delivery networks through efficient, scalable, and high-quality project delivery. The Pre-Construction organization plays a critical role in accelerating launches by driving alignment across Real Estate, Design, Permitting, Procurement, Construction, and Operations teams. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex, high-impact pre-construction initiatives, influence cross-functional strategy, and help define the future of rapid delivery infrastructure at massive scale through technical expertise, operational excellence, and end-to-end program ownership.
