We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Project Manager / Transportation Practice Leader to help shape the future of our Central Texas transportation practice. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex transportation projects, strengthen client partnerships, mentor emerging leaders, and drive strategic growth initiatives throughout the region. The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of technical expertise, business development acumen, and proven leadership experience, with a passion for growing people, projects, and client relationships.

What you will do:

As a key leader within our transportation team, you will play an instrumental role in expanding our presence across Central Texas while overseeing the successful delivery of transportation projects for public-sector clients. Responsibilities include:

• •Serving as a Senior Project Manager and Transportation Practice Leader for Central Texas, with the opportunity to assume broader office leadership responsibilities.
• •Leading business development efforts across the Austin region, leveraging existing relationships and developing new client connections with TxDOT, Travis County, Williamson County, Hays County, CAMPO, municipalities, and other transportation stakeholders.
• •Managing transportation projects from planning and schematic design through final design and construction support.
• •Providing technical leadership for transportation schematic design, corridor studies, feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, roadway design, and multimodal transportation improvements.
• •Leading pursuit strategies, capture planning, interviews, and proposal development for key transportation opportunities.
• •Building and maintaining strong relationships with transportation decision-makers, program managers, and public sector leaders throughout Central Texas.
• •Mentoring and developing project managers, engineers, EITs, and emerging leaders through coaching and hands-on project involvement.
• •Collaborating with transportation, planning, traffic, environmental, and municipal infrastructure professionals to deliver integrated solutions.
• •Recruiting, developing, and retaining top transportation talent.
• •Providing project oversight, quality management, risk management, and client satisfaction leadership across your portfolio.
• •Identifying opportunities to expand services and strengthen existing client relationships.
• •Representing the firm at industry events, professional organizations, and community engagements throughout the region.

Who you are:

You are a respected Central Texas transportation professional who combines strong technical expertise in TxDOT schematic design and project development with proven client relationships and business development skills. You are equally comfortable leading a pursuit, mentoring a young engineer, presenting to a county commissioners court, or managing the technical delivery of a complex transportation project. Most importantly, you are passionate about growing people, expanding client relationships, and helping build a premier transportation practice in Central Texas.

What you bring:

• •Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• •Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas.
• •15+ years of progressive experience leading transportation projects, managing client relationships, and developing high-performing teams.
• •Extensive experience delivering transportation projects for TxDOT, counties, municipalities, MPOs, and other public-sector transportation agencies.
• •Strong expertise in schematic design, corridor planning, preliminary engineering, and roadway design.
• •Demonstrated success leading business development efforts, cultivating client relationships, and winning new work.
• •Proven ability to manage complex transportation projects from pursuit through delivery.
• •Experience mentoring and developing junior staff, building high-performing teams, and fostering a collaborative culture.
• •Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• •Strong understanding of transportation programs, funding mechanisms, and project development processes throughout Central Texas, including Austin, Travis County, Williamson County, Hays County, and surrounding communities.
• •Established relationships with transportation decision-makers and agency leaders in the Central Texas region.
• •Demonstrated leadership presence and business acumen with the ability to help grow and lead a regional transportation practice.
• •Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Austin/Central Texas region.
