Monotype is seeking a strategic, digitally fluent Digital & Social Media lead to strengthen our corporate brand awareness, reputation, engagement, and influence across social channels and online communities, and shape how Monotype shows up in AI-powered search and answer engines, which increasingly draw on social and community content. This role will lead Monotype’s global social media strategy and execution while supporting a wide variety of corporate announcements, executive communications, and thought leadership content. The position will help ensure that Monotype communicates a clear, consistent, and compelling narrative to customers, employees, investors, media, analysts, partners, and creative communities.
As AI increasingly shapes how companies are discovered, evaluated, and recommended, the ideal candidate for this role will bring a proven track record of iterating and adapting social and community content to strengthen a company's visibility and authority across AI-powered search and large language models. We are looking for someone who combines strategic social media expertise with exceptional writing skills and judgment. They understand how to tailor complex business messages for different audiences and channels, can move fluidly between long-term strategy and hands-on execution, and use data and AI-powered tools to improve content quality, reach, engagement, and efficiency.
What you’ll do:
Develop and execute Monotype’s global social strategy across LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, X and emerging platforms.
Build an authentic presence in online communities like Reddit, and other influential forums, where conversations shape how Monotype is discussed and recommended.
Build channel-specific strategies, audience plans, and content programs aligned with Monotype’s brand, business priorities, campaigns, product launches, and corporate narrative.
Own the global social editorial calendar, gathering input from teams across the business, keeping stakeholders informed about what’s publishing and when, and adjusting quickly as priorities shift.
Prioritize competing requests across the business, weighing functional needs, market trends, and partner and foundry relationships to keep the social program focused and effective.
Work with internal design and creative teams and external vendors to create, edit, publish, and optimize social content, including executive thought leadership, corporate announcements, product stories, customer content, employer-brand messaging, event coverage, and creative-industry commentary.
Partner with Corporate Communications to amplify company news and announcements across social.
Translate complex company, market, product, financial, and industry information into clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate social content.
Partner with Corporate Communications to bring executive thought leadership to life on social, developing platform-specific content and advising on formats, cadence, engagement and channel best practices.
Monitor social conversations, industry trends, emerging issues, competitor activity, and sentiment related to branding, typography, design, AI, creative technology, and Monotype.
Establish and maintain social media governance, including publishing standards, approval processes, response protocols, escalation procedures, and brand and reputational guardrails.
Track and report on engagement quality, audience growth, sentiment, share of voice, content performance, referral activity, AI search visibility, and other measures of social media effectiveness.
Help identify newsworthy company stories worth telling on social that strengthen Monotype’s visibility and reputation.
Support crisis and issues communications by coordinating monitoring, escalation, and posting during an issue.
Use generative AI and other AI-powered tools to improve research, content development, social listening, media monitoring, audience analysis, reporting, and workflow efficiency while maintaining appropriate human review and brand standards.
Develop reusable prompts, workflows, and templates that improve the speed, consistency, and quality of social and corporate communications.
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
5-7+ years of experience in social media strategy, corporate communications, public relations, digital communications, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing social media strategies for a corporate, B2B, technology, or similarly complex organization.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt content for social media platforms and channels and communities.
Strong visual sensibility and working design proficiency, with experience partnering with in-house designers, contractors and agencies to bring social content to life.
Strong understanding of LinkedIn, Reddit, X, Instagram, YouTube, online communities, and evolving social media practices.
Understanding of how AI answer engines (e.g. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) source from social and community content, and experience shaping content strategy to improve brand visibility in AI-generated answers.
Sound judgment in real time, knowing when to engage, when to escalate and when to stay quiet, especially during sensitive or fast-moving moments. Experience working through cross-functional review and approval processes involving executives, Legal, Finance, Marketing, and other stakeholders.
Experience with social media publishing, listening, media monitoring, analytics, and reporting tools.
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, agencies, and stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.

The US pay range for this position is $115,000.00-$130,00.000 annual base salary for external candidates with the appropriate level of experience. A corporate bonus
