Sr. Technical Program Manager, Amazon Financials Foundation Services (AFFS)

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you'll collaborate with product, engineering, accounting, and finance teams to build scalable financial systems that fuel Amazon's global growth while shaping the future of financial accounting at Amazon scale.

• Key job responsibilities
• - Lead cross-functional program execution by coordinating with product, engineering, accounting, and finance stakeholders to deliver financial systems that meet technical requirements and business objectives

- Drive metrics-based decision making by collecting, analyzing, and communicating data that informs project direction and helps teams prioritize work

- Facilitate stakeholder alignment by conducting regular communication with leadership at director and VP levels, ensuring transparency around project status, risks, and key performance indicators

- Balance competing priorities by managing the tension between long-term product vision and immediate business needs, advocating for an incremental approach that delivers value consistently

- Articulate technical strategy by translating complex technology choices and architectural decisions for diverse audiences, building shared understanding across technical and non-technical stakeholders

• A day in the life
• In this role, you'll navigate the complexity of large-scale financial systems integration. Your day might include facilitating alignment meetings with engineering and product teams on system architecture decisions, reviewing metrics and data to inform project direction, or presenting technical trade-offs to senior leadership. You'll work across dozens of stakeholders to ensure teams are delivering high-quality solutions while balancing immediate business needs with long-term product vision. You'll find yourself translating between technical and business contexts, helping diverse groups understand the implications of technology choices, and keeping teams synchronized around shared goals and key performance indicators.

Basic qualifications

• - 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
• - 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
• - 3+ years of software development experience
• - 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
• - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
• - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Preferred qualifications

• - 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
• - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
• - Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
